Courtyard by Marriott Tallahassee Downtown/Capitol

It's a Marriott, so of course the rooms are clean and well taken care of. BUT THE STAFF and the accessibility!!! We needed a last minute room because another hotel in the area did not have a WHEELCHAIR accessible room as they promised. The man at the front desk was AMAZING. The staff were so warm and welcoming (as they should be, but they went above and beyond)

Smaller hotel with only 2-3 floors. Hotel has a great vibe though and feels more like a bed and breakfast. I never spend time in hotel lobbies but I found myself doing so at this once because it was cozy. Booths with individual TVs, fireplace always going. Cafe has limited options and is pricey, but everything I tried was excellent. Coffee was exceptional.

I write this at 12:50am as I listen to music coming from the club next door. It is LOUD! So loud that Marriott should include a disclaimer when reserving that you will NOT be able to sleep until after the club closes. My bathroom was not clean at check in however the staff was immediately responsive. The initial appearance of the hotel is decent but upon closer inspection, floors, glass, baseboards, etc. need a deep, deep cleaning. But, none of this really matters. Why stay here if you cannot sleep?

Short version: We got scammed by this hotel, and they have no issue charging your card before you even step foot in the door, only to tell you that your room isn't available. This was on July 24, 2021 I can't wait for the owner to leave a copy/pasted response to this that ignores the fact that this hotel steals or attempts to steal money from customers. Long version: I meant to leave a review for this place years ago when we stopped in Tallahasee due to the weather during our trip. Anyways, I called the hotel during late at night to see if we could book a room last minute which the attendant at the time said yes. We booked and gave our card information, and were assured our room was ready for us. Although once we arrived at the hotel, we were told that our room was no longer available. We did get charged for the hotel room, but we assumed it would get refunded since we literally never stayed here due to our somehow paid/reserved room suddenly not being available. Fast forward a few weeks later, I called the hotel once again to let them know we needed to have our money refunded. To this day, we honestly never noticed if we got our money back. Although, if you are staying here last minute, do not. The workers are scammy, and they have no issue charging your card before you even step foot in the door, only to tell you that your room isn't available.
