Avis Car Rental

The wait was over an hour for a car I had rented well in advance. The employees did not seem to care about the extreme wait times and were not friendly. Many people waiting inside and outside for well over an hour.

Well are first rental experience with Avis out of Orlando Sanford Airport was excellent as was the return into the port of Miami the check in was very quick. However quite the opposite when trying to rent coming back out of the port of Miami. We made our reservation online ahead of our arrival for a noon pickup. We arrived alittle early to which they said that we were on a "list" once vehicle's arrived. Three in a half hours later we finally had our vehicle and was able to be on our way only to notice that the vehicle was not full of fuel but on an qtr of a tank. Perhaps this is just the norm for this busy location due to the cruise ship traffic.

We had a reservation and they were not ready for us. We have waited over 30minutes and won't be surprised if we have to wait an hour because there are so many other people waiting. This is not ok. Don't rent from them.

Reserved car will likely not be ready at your scheduled pick up time. You will be waiting on the sidewalk with the other 10 groups also waiting for their rentals. STRONGLY recommend going to the airport for your rental.

Pick up from cruise ship terminal was incredibly slow. One van holding about 12 pax every 30 minutes meant we had to wait over 90 minutes to finally get to the rental location. Once at the rental location we were told there were no cars available and the wait would be "at least 30 minutes" even though we were there 30 minutes past our reserved pick up time. The 30 minute wait turned in to 1h25min, so almost a 90 minute wait. Due to Avis their incompetence to manage demand we lost over 3 hours of valuable time to make it for our flight which we had to rush for in the end. Not pleased at all and will not use or recommend this location and service again.
