Great hotel, room, bed, and shower, were really great. I locked myself out of my room one night and they helped get me another key quickly.

CitizenM is set up to be trendy for the young professional road warrior. Good internet, high tech rooms, a bar, breakfast (for $$) and a gym. What more could you want? Maybe a bit more space in the room than a cargo container? How about a coffee/tea pot in the room so you don't have to go downstairs, wait in line and spend $ before you can relax for the night or wake up in the morning. And, no, there is no room service.
Also note that there is no dedicated spot for a car to stop outside to unload luggage, so you better be able to jump out quickly with all your belongings in city traffic.
The location for this hotel is awesome, everything is clean and the staff is friendly. I like the decor and the hi tech room controls, but the places they are saving money can be a bit irritating.

Good modern hotel in the best location in Washington, DC!
We stayed there for three nights during the spring break with our family of three. Yes, we shared one room, but the bed is very big to fit all three of us (including 10 years old daughter).
The room is clean and has everything we needed. We enjoyed playing around with tablet remote :) The one huge minus: terribly uncomfortable stupidly high pillows, it is impossible to sleep on them!!
The buffet breakfast was really nice, fresh coffee and plenty of good healthy(and not) food options. And did I tell you about location! It is perfect!! Three minutes away from the National mall, the Capitol, walking distance to many great restaurants and museums.
Overall, I recommend this place! Dont forget to bring your own pillow ;)

There are a couple reasons why I would strongly recommend NOT staying at this hotel.
First, price transparency issues: the price that you are quoted on the hotels website and the price listed in your confirmation email is not the price that you will be charged when you check in. There will be innumerable fees, taxes, and the like added that were not listed anywhere on your booking forms or email confirmation, and they will raise the price very substantially. Buyer beware.
Second, the customer service is very poor. There are almost no humans at this hotel that you can talk to if something goes wrong. For example, I left my headphones in the room and contacted the hotel immediately about getting them back. Even even though housekeeping had found the item, I have had zero success getting the hotel to actually return it since (despite providing a shipping label etc at their request). The whole process has been a nightmare, involving repeatedly ignored phone calls and emails, with no end in sight. I would stay away from this place if you can.
