This place is just beautiful! The details in the architecture are just incredible. Its quiet, and located in a perfect location walking distance into downtown. The staff was wonderful and Nancy is a delight. She even had a special gluten free bread for me. There are so many wonderful things about the mansion but its best if you see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back!

If I could give 10 stars if I would. We just spent valentines evening here and it was a the most delightful experience. The staff, rooms, the location, breakfast, and elegant and thoughtful touches in every room were amazing. We have stayed everywhere from resorts in the Maldives to the Blue lagoon in Iceland and we were both equally delighted with our stay here, we will definitely be back!

We roast the best coffee for the best spot in Mystic. Quiet, away from it all, but so close to downtown Mystic. Dissolve away for a pampered weekend.

We rarely do reviews, (Way Less than once a year), but once in awhile it is very warranted. The Captain's Mansion is quite simply gorgeous. In short,... someone put way more money & care & straight-up Love into restoring it than they may ever get back out of it... It's absolutely stunning, and a really exceptional & special treat. We had the additional good fortune of going the week before Christmas with all the lights and decorations, and having the first night completely to ourselves. The manager Nancy, who was wonderful, super-attentive & pleasant, handed us the Keys to the Palace to have to ourselves after 9:00pm when management leaves - we felt like kids in a candy store left unattended, LOL. From start to finish it was like a dream. Our room (Captain's Suite - probably the best in the mansion) was amazing, and we basically felt like royalty. The 'enclosed widow's walk' on top of the mansion (easily accessible from 3rd floor) was so much fun with its 360-views. The 1st floor parlors, main winding stairway, & entrance area with intricate woodwork were a delight. 12 ft ceilings with cast plaster moldings and exquisite finishing throughout. Breakfast was very good, and it was so much fun to take the short walk down to the center of town to the shops and restaurants and then make our way back to our own personal mansion. In summary, we felt bad for all the poor slobs in Mystic who stayed elsewhere that weekend. It was quite clear they screwed up, to be quite blunt. But not us. King & Queen, Lord & Lady,... for a weekend. (attached are Only some pics from our stay at the mansion... We got a ton of Epic Mystic-Christmas 'money-shots' , but don't want to confuse the subject of the review, ha ha) :-) Walkability: Barely more than a block's walk to the main center strip of Mystic. Very nice location.

The Captain's Mansion in Mystic is nothing short of majestic! From the moment I stepped into the opulent rooms, I felt like royaltyseriously, it's pure luxury. This place is practically a palace in Mystic! But let's talk breakfast first oh my, it was an absolute feast! Fresh baked banana bread, a spread of cereals, yogurts, Nutella, jams, breads, oatmeal, and not one, not two, but four kinds of juices! And coffee that's just perfect. But wait, there's more! The wine bar with self-serve wines, handpicked by the hotel team? Genius. And those late-night treats? Cheese plates and fresh fruit to end the dayjust divine. Plus, diving into the history of this mansion adds that extra layer of charm - the front desk agent that checked us in gave us a full tour of the mansion and it was truly incredible. It's like living in a piece of Mystic's past while being spoiled rotten with all the modern luxuries. The Captain's Mansionseriously, it's an experience fit for royalty!
