I came to this Verizon store in Yuma AZ because my phone was acting up. I wanted to get a relatively inexpensive phone to replace it. The sales rep told me my phone had a trade in value of $700 toward a Samsung. He told me all I would owe was a couple hundred dollars plus the activation fee. What he did not tell me is that it was a payment plan that locked me in for 50 months. I asked if there was a contract and he said no. He said my plan would stay the exact same price, which it did. When my company quit paying for part of my phone bill, I wanted to switch carriers and I found out I still owed $550. He lied to make the deal and was completely dishonest. When I went to Verizon in Grand Junction Colorado to explain, they said yeah, we hear about this all the time and there isn't any thing we can do. I asked to cancel my service and they said they can't, we can only sell service, sell plans, and sell phones. Another guy came over calling me 'my man' and said I'm on my own and they can't do anything. Although both people knew this scam is happening, they offered no help nor made any sort of effort to find a way to make the situation better. They just said, call customer service and deal with it on your own. After so many years of being a customer, I'm done with Verizon like many others are. Why pay a premium for that kind of attitude and poor service when another carrier can offer the same phone service and speeds for $70 less?

NOT Verizon. Third party. Charged a different higher price and setup fee, after the phone was switched over. No recourse to return.
