Denver Health Emergency Department

We was in the emergency me my wife and my son from 7pm until 11pm just waiting to they make ultrasound to my wife and after that they said oh call urgent care and make appointment for ultrasound i wish i can put less than 1 star

They were very understanding of past trauma and how horribly it effects me , they were amazing at the whole trans thing like wow this place ... Bless them

My family and I were in town to visit Colorado from Cincinnati, Ohio. About halfway through our trip, my father started experiencing pulmonary distress related to altitude sickness. This was scary, as my father has COPD and emphysema. The symptoms were frightening at points on the way to the ER. When we arrived at the ER, we were scared and uncomfortable. We live in a very small town outside Cincinnati, and feel out of our element in larger cities, especially ones we havent visited. Upon arrival, the signage was very clear for parking and where to enter. Even in our panic in the dark, we were able to figure it out. The staff at the registration desk were empathic and remained calm, even when our speech was rapid and pressured from fear. My father was immediately taken back and seen by a doctor in less than 30 minutes. The nurse, Eric Carpenter, was extremely kind, empathetic, and over the top with compassion. The nurse took time to listen to my family, and understanding the situation providing not only interventions for my fathers physical distress but aides in our familys emotional distress in the moment. We had a horrible experience at an Airbnb, and were seeking somewhere to stay for the night. Eric gave us guidance on hotels in the area and pharmacies where we could pick up my fathers prescriptions. He even gave us guidance on ways we could still enjoy our trip to the area without increasing our altitude. He provided kindness in a way that was not expected of him, but needed and appreciated. Our family has multiple people with chronic health issues, and we have had our fair share of ER visits at home and on trips. Denver Health provided us with quality care, and got us in and out in such a short amount of time. We were very impressed and thankful for the care. We are hopeful the supervisors for Eric Carpenter will see this. We intend to recommend him for the Daisy award if the hospital participates.
