Mitchell Wettstein: Allstate Insurance

Bought a house in Aurora from out of state. Had to quickly decide on home owner's insurance and Allstate seemed to be the cheapest. Purchased a used car locally as well and soon brought two cars into town and signed them all up with Allstate for the big discount. Agency was unresponsive, took 6 months of monthly trying to change my mailing address. Premium charges changed monthly but I could not get them to tell me why. 1-800 support is better than the Wettstein agency but nobody could really answer my questions or change my address. Finally went to agency in person during Covid. Support staff sitting around laughing, all they could do was print out the same garbage I could get on line. Told me it was not possible to break out charges or premiums by vehicle. Went to State Farm and it has been a cheaper and much more responsive experience. Don't know why I waited 9 months to switch.

I liked the quick response to my initial request for a quote and I had a friendly staff member walk me through the initial paperwork. In addition, I really like the ease of the renewal process on the online website. Of course, I really love the discounts I received compared to other big name companies I received quotes from as well.

I had to leave All State after 4 years because Mitchell Wettstein's takeover of my local agency has been horrendous. Prior to Mitchell, the previous agency was notorious for leaving customers high-and-dry but this has went to an entirely new level. I've left multiple voicemails and called their 1-800 main line to request contact from my office. I have not received any communication from this agent at all. After multiple attempts to fix an issue prior to beginning of May 2021, I was charged a fee for the exact issue I wanted to correct. Now, I've called in and the 1-800 line is referring me to my local agent to have them fix the problem. After this comedy of errors I decided to go to State Farm and their policy was over $100 a month cheaper for the exact same policy. Steer clear of this local agent if you want to be "In Good Hands" with your insurance agency.
