This is a bank that advertises itself for offering personalized service, Sadly I found just the opposite. I called to inquire about a HELOC loan, spoke with three different people, none of them had any follow up whatsoever. This is definitely not the personalized customer oriented banking experience anyone who is seeking for would find here.

Best banking experience I've ever had. I opened a biz account with Fred and it was 5 star service. Great working with him and opening an account there is a wonderful process. Matt helped me as well on another day I came in and went out of his way to provide me what I needed. This place is old school in how they treat customers and I love it. They are amazing to work with. I wish other businesses were like FRB. Thank you!

If I could give zero stars I would. By far the worst banking experience I've ever had. Kate Cooper was absolutely rude and disrespectful when I asked her to cash a cashier's check drawn by the bank there. When I expressed that I have many clients who use the bank so perhaps it's better for me to open an account--she was aggressive and asked why I would need to do that and to name my clients. In all my years of banking, I've never had a bank representative try to thwart my attempt to open an account. She wanted to know what I do for work, why I need the money, all of which is none of her business--nor appropriate to ask at all. I read the previous review about people of color being treated poorly--this was my first time experiencing in a professional bank setting. It's not like I came in wearing sweats or looked like I didn't belong there either. Do not patron this bank! I went across the street to Chase where I was greeted with kindness and the teller remembered me by name and treated me with the utmost respect. The customer service is night and day. Not only did Kate Cooper treat me with such horrible manners, but she also left the customer's deposit and all their info exposed and unsecured at the desk in front of me. Had that been my deposit so brazenly exposed to the next patron, I would be enraged. She also wanted me to give her all my identification information verbally so the whole bank could hear my social security number and address--I couldn't believe the lack of regard for privacy. I told her to give me a piece of paper and pen to write it down--which is customary at Chase and any other bank that values their patron's private and sensitive information. This bank is unprofessional and discriminatory. I won't ever come back here and will tell my clients who bank there how I was treated.

If you're looking to refinance your home mortgage and facing a wall of frustration, do yourself a favor and contact Bobby Ramirez, relationship manager, at First Republic Bank in Walnut Creek. He's awesome!!!He's a great communicator and keeps you updated on all the steps and processes as your loan winds its way through the process. And best of all, he got us the lowest interest rate of all the lenders we talked to and was able to fund the loan through a portfolio loan offered by the bank when other banks couldn't do the deal because they had to sell their loans to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Even the credit union where I have had a 20-year relationship with couldn't offer a loan as attractive as the one offered by Bobby and First Republic. This guy totally rocks! I am one happy camper and will be moving my banking to First Republic and saying so long to the credit union. If I could give Bobby a 10-star rating, I would!
