BUYERS BEWARE!! My daughter and son-in-law recently purchased a home that Sequoia West Properties remodeled. If you are looking at purchasing a home and see that the seller is John Purdy, Sequoia West or one of their affiliates, I strongly recommend that you run away from it ASAP. They initially encountered some smaller issues due to multiple corners being cut which can be expected when moving into a flipped home. However, most recently (60 days of living in the house), their new solid wood floors have completely buckled and separated leaving an extreme hazard and cannot be repaired. Instead, they have to be totally replaced. They have had multiple companies come look at the floors and every single one has said this is one of the worst installations theyve ever seen. When you purchase a home you expect issues to arise, but when you purchase a remodeled home, you dont expect to have to remodel it again within the first 2 months of owning it. If you are a seller and are considering selling to Sequoia West or having them remodel your home, I strongly recommend you think about the future buyer and the headache that they will incur immediately upon moving in. We understood that typically with flips, corners are cut, but there was clearly zero pride in any of their work on our house. If you are a buyer, please stay clear. I do not wish these issues upon any one.
