image My husband’s mother has been needing assistance for awhile and we live in Rocklin, but we have not felt okay with the nursing homes around us. Fortunately, his family is from this surrounding area and we figured she would be around more people to visit her and I believe the direction in which this company prioritize’s care ultimately ensured we chose San Rafael. Please don’t make me regret my decision as this is a huge decision for any family to make haha.

image On Monday evening, August 22, I was walking my dog on 5th street and ran into a elder lady standing on the side building of this establishment. The elder lady ( patient) was crying and asking me to help her. I asked the lady if she was ok, she answered, No! As I was comforting the lady, I turn and see a nurse walking towards us. Right away the elder lady (patient) starts to shake and tell me to not to listen to whatever the nurse has to say and asked if I can help her . The patient even mentioned that the nurse will say, she is crazy, but she is not crazy. The nurse then comes to us, grabs the patient and tries to take her back inside the establishment. (Wellness center) The elder lady ( patient) was trying run away but the nurse was holding on to her so she couldn't run/leave. The nurse started to yell for help because she wasn't able to get the patient back inside the center. Another nurse then comes out, and helps the nurse with the patient. From the look and sound of the patient, I believed the patient. The patient looked very aware at what was happening. The look in her eyes and cry for help made me want to help her . But, it was happening so fast, I didn't know what to do. The patient kept asking me to get help, get help ! The patient also mentioned that the workers there abuse the patients. I honestly BELIEVE HER ! The patient was smart enough to somehow escape the center. The patient was also smart enough to grab her jacket because it was cold outside. When I first ran into her, she was hiding on the side and also struggling to zip her jacket up. I'm not sure what type of business this is, but this place looks dirty, sketchy and the look on the patients face, haunts me til this day. I wasn't sure who to report this incident to, the police ? I don't think they would have helped anyways. I don't know who that elder lady ( patient) is but I do hope she is ok. I was worried that they would harm her, especially after that incident. I wonder if she has family ? I also wonder if her family knows what's going on ? I pray that God is protecting her and all the patients in that establishment. I will continue to walk pass this place just in case another incident like this happens again. And I hope next time, I'm able to think fast. Because I truly believe the patient was telling the truth.

image This nursing home is a nightmare and should not be in business. The manager takes no responsibility and is rarely around. he will hide in his office if he knows you want to talk to him. But the doctor who sees patients at this facility is evil. he does not respond to phone calls after 5PM. I had to call 911 for my husband as the "doctor" did not provide the appropriate pain management. My husband was being eaten by cancer and screaming in pain and when 911 came I told them my husband needed pain medication. The 911 team informed me that this doctor never answered calls after hours so I should not even try. But they could only take him to the ER and then back into the hospital. My husband was in so much you could not even put a sheet on him. When he had to pee no one ever helped him but left him covered with urine. When one man came to change sheets my husband could not bear to be touched. I had worked with Hospice and knew the proper procedure to change sheets for a patient in dire pain and it took at least 2-3 people to make this happen. The care givers were not trained to help him. My son in law requested Hospice a week and a half earlier but no one notified them. Finally the day before my husband died 2 nurses from Hospice arrived with no drugs. These were traveling nurses instead of the By the Bay Hospice which was requested. It was obvious that this hospice was ordered by this nursing nurse for monetary purposes. It was not until 7:30 at night that my husband was finally given pain medication. I stayed the night making sure he received proper care by watching the clock and then going to find the nurse in order for my husband to get care. It was the first time he slept peacefully. My husband passed away on Monday. A few days later I received a notice that this hospice had ordered 200 mg of morphine for my husband and after talking to an attorney i was told he was given lethal doses. I wanted him out of pain and then to be bought home by a proper hospice to pass away surrounded by family, friends and dogs. No one cared it was a nightmare. I had a proper breakdown after my husband died in this terrible awful facility. i saw rats on 2 occasions. I saw caregivers walk off the job as there was no oversight by the manager to stop it. I did everything I could to help him. The doctors at Marin General are educated at poorly rated facilities not in the United States. I could not even reach the manager of the hospital. And the oncologist from Marin General told me that my husband;s cancer had not returned and thus he never got the proper treatment. At one time I was a patient at Marin Cancer Care but felt because it was obvious that the doctors were not experts for my blood cancer even though they assured me they were. They could not read my labs correctly and this was during Covid when most of the doctors simply took off for Dude ranches and there were only a few doctors available. it was clear they were taking advantage of the Covid situation. I left after I read my labs as it was clear that I was dying but the doctor at Marin Cancer center just blew me off. I heard he was retired now. When I went to Cedars Sinai for help I was told that I had only a short time to live but they did everything to bring me back. And now I travel 7 hours on Hwy 5 to see a doctor who knows what he is doing. The health care in Marin General Hospital for serious health problems is beyond shocking. I am so amazed that they can even do anything right except I believe they can deliver babies properly. I have been in the health care world for 14 years and was disgusted beyond words. The worse situation is getting a PET scan which would have saved my husband but you can only get a PET scan if you are not a hospital patient. if you are you must be dimissed and then taken by ambulance to get a PET scan once gotten you return via ambulance to be readmitted to the hospital. When I asked that my husband receive a Pet scan i was told he could just get a scan given in the hospital but could not show cancer in patients. These terrible doctors just stand by and watch the human tragedy in front of them. I will never step foot in Marin Hospital which as a tax i have been paying for every year. it is so poorly run it reminded me of a 3rd world hospital. The doctors get away with murder yet I wonder how they live with themselves. I hope there may be one or two doctors who are honorable and help people but i never dealt with them. I had health documents drawn up that no matter what condition i was in that I would go to California pacific Hospital and never go near Marin General again in my life. It's run so poorly and it is so obvious I am truly amazed that it can exist. My husband died becasue the doctors were clueless and didn't care had he been at a hospital of excellence he would have lived.many people made a lot of money off of my husband. I pity them Doctors are no longer the same people that used to work in Marin County.
