Very bad experience.
No BMW X3 or eq. was available. The personal offered an X6 for 100 per day more (and then 50 after indicating that it was not ok), doubling the price of the rental! I refused then I got offered a BMW 3 to drive to the next Sixt shop 5 miles away to check whether they would have the car. Arrived there, they took care of me however indicating that they told the other vendor not to send me to them As said, there service was perfect and I got my X3. I can confirm that Sixt SF Mission is not serious: I lost 2 hours holiday in this unprofessional mess.
By the way, the 3 series offered had big scratches not reported on the report I was asked to sign, had to report it immediately.

Headline : dont rent from here. They will try to hold you accountable for damages that didnt happen during your rental. I only got out of payment because I had video evidence that all the damages existed before my rental.
Heres what happened - when I pick up rental cars I always take a detailed video of the whole car just in case. Usually I dont have to use it but its a good habit. After I dropped the car off a few days later, I got an email the next day saying they had found damages on the car that hadnt been there before my rental. I click the link and theres a list of six different damages they want to charge me for (most of them super tiny by the way). EVERY SINGLE ONE was there before my rental and I had video proof too. Luckily when I submitted my video and screenshots and diagrams I was cleared a few days later, but thats insane. If I hadnt taken a video I wouldve been liable for damages that had already existed, because of either 1. Their inconsistent documentation from rental to rental or 2. An absolute scam of a business. Left me so furious. My first and last time renting from Sixt.
One smaller thing to share - when you leave the parking lot the gate opens automatically. When you return, the gate does not open automatically. I couldnt get out and leave the car on the sidewalk to go get someone. I tried calling the number on this listing and it went to a national number, who said they didnt have a direct line and only could offer me an email?!? Finally I honked the horn despite feeling rude. Then someone let me in. I apologized for honking and they said oh no you have to honk, thats how we know to let you in. 1. Tell people that either verbally or with a sign on the gate, or 2. Give people a gate opener with their rental. So we dont have to sit with the car on the sidewalk on a busy road waiting to get let in.
The only positive and the only reason this is two stars instead of one is because Corey was a rock star at pick up. He gave me a free upgrade and I was confused by the insurance options paired with my credit card and he helped me out and made the process so smooth and easy to understand. I was so ready to give five stars (Corey deserves that, not Sixt) until what happened at drop off with the damages

Awesome experience renting a Hyundai Ionia 5! Everyone who helped us checking in and returning the vehicle were very pleasant and helpful. Coreys the man! He took great care of us!

I returned the car almost a month ago and received the rental invoice. I have not received the deposit back on my card. After almost a month, the rental company tried to charge my card.
