So grateful for the smooth transaction and process of renting a car- all thanks to Shayna from at the O'Farrell location in SF! She went above and beyond to ensure my friend and I had everything we needed for a safe departure. She was so patient and kind, even clients were demanding and disrespectful. I can only imagine how stressful her role must be- yet she never let the behaviors of others influence her tone or attitude. With tremendous gratitude and appreciation- I want to highlight and celebrate Shayna! Thank you for making our trip so memorable!

Congrats Thrifty! You got the award of the most disgusting car rental experience of my life. After traveling to more than 80+ countries, having countless awful stories, you still won! This is the kind of experience that should stay in History for the generations to come. We had a rented car that we already paid for at 2 PM. 1. We wait an hour in the line 2. After having seen us wait for NOTHING they tell us they have no car and that other people have been waiting for 6 HOURS to get one. PUT A SIGN MAYBE? OR TELL US? 3. Then they put us in a sort of HAND WRITTEN waitlist, like a 12 years old would do. 4. They do not EVEN apologize, nothing. We paid for a car, had plans, a hotel, etc. They DO NOT CARE. They just looked at us with zombie eyes repeating there are no cars like stupid robots. 5. After 3 hours of more waiting, they tell us there will be no car for us, maybe an electric. 6. The shop closes and we have no car. Extra bonus : 7. After this having ruined my holiday, I ask for a refund. 8. They ask me PROOF THAT I DID NOT GET THE CAR. Can you imagine the level of incompetence? They dont even know if their clients GOT A CAR OR NOT. 9. Still waiting for my refund. Who will pay for me canceled hotel and the super high fee I had to pay in another car agency? THIS IS THE PUREST FORM OF SCAM.

Horrible experience. I made the mistake of reserving an EV. I drove the KIA to Marin college from San Francisco and back and the estimated charge time was an 1 hour and 40 minutes. I could have walked to Marin faster than recharging the car. When I asked to upgrade to a gasoline car the counter person told me impossible we always over book!

I rented a car through Expedia for an 8am pickup Friday March 29. The car was not ready for me and I was told one would not be available for at least two hours. This was a big problem since I had to return the car by 5pm that same day and had a trip planned that required the full day, and the car could not be returned after hours. Hugh, who said he was the manager, said that I just had to 'deal with it,' but then offered to waive my fee for dropping the car off at the airport--which was then required of me, because of the 2-hour delay and my flight that evening. When I returned, I was stunned to see that Hugh had doubled the price on me, because "the reservation changed." When I showed him the receipt I had for the $62.88 rental, rather than the $120 rental he was charging me, he tole me to take it or leave it: then, when I expressed my concern, told me "Forget it, I'm not renting you a car at all--even though with 2 small children in tow, this would basically be holding me hostage." Because I had restless children with me, it was pouring rain and there was no alternative, I accepted the $120 rental (and an electric car, which I did NOT want, because I did NOT have time to charge it--and so incurred a $35 charge fee on top of that, for a total rental cost of ~$150 rather than the $62 of the car I had booked). Hugh and Dmitri, the other individual there, were both rude to me and delayed processing my reservation for another 15 minutes, cutting into my day plans further. If you need a rental car in downtown SF, avoid avoid this unprofessional and deceitful operation.
