Dollar Car Rental - San Diego International Airport

I wished I could give 0 star. During Christmas week, we ordered rental car at 9:30pm, we waited until 1:30am and was told there was no car left. We were told to come back at 5am and ensured a car, all commuting fee would be accommodated. What is so funny is that NO BODY TOOK RESPONSIBILITY OF THAT. NO MANAGER OF THE STORE ACCOMMODATED US. WE STAYED UP FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT FOR GETTING THE CAR AND OUR FIRST DAY TRIP WAS RUINED. The agent was so useless and helpless AND full of apathy. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Tried to call them and it forwarded to voicemail for customer support. Why does such awful rental car store exist?

The worst car rental experience in 20+ years of traveling. Arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and they were absolutely slammed. It took two hours of waiting in line just to get the keys. Once we got to our car, it took another 30 min to exit the garage. No apologies, nothing. None of the other rental companies had any issues like this. Upon returning the car, I asked one of the employees to close out the rental so I could get a receipt. He pointed to a bunch of empty cars and said that hes busy closing these out. I acknowledged this and pointed out that those cars were empty and Im standing next to mine. It only takes a few minutes to complete. He rudely dismissed my request. I politely asked him again to check in my car, but he looked me in the eyes and rudely said no, Im not going to do it and then walked away. I expect better professionalism and customer service. I can promise you one thing, Im never renting from this company or this location again. To potential customers, avoid this place at all costs! To government travelers, pay the extra couple dollars to rent from a reputable company, such as Avis, to avoid the absurdity that I just went through. Use my experience to justify an alternate rental company in DTS. My review will generate the standard boiler plate response and no changes will be made because this location survives solely based on government travel revenue.

Should have looked at the reviews here. Common thing with dollar MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. They try to charge you for not having a full gas tank returned when you do have a full gas tank returned. Third time this has happened at a dollar airport return for me. Eventually they will be criminally charged for this.

Poorest car rental company 1 hour wait for picking up a rental on a Saturday night in March are you kidding? Only one attending agent and a full line up to the door ... make yourself a favor rent with a different company .

Excellent option and very rigorous in the delivery and reception of the vehicle. Very well attended at the booth or counter.
