Great place to stay! Would recommend.

We stayed their for one night and it was great. Checked in at 5pm and got a great view of our room with bushy trees on the 2nd floor. When we got to our room, it was clean and the pillows were pretty comfy to sleep on. The hot tub was nice however it wasnt as hot as my boyfriend and I would have liked it to be. The jets didnt work when we tried pressing the button. The next morning, breakfast was included and yummy.

Hotel Abrego is a revamped motor lodge on motor lodge row (Abrego Street). Its close to Hwy 101. Next to the Monterey Mercedes Benz dealership. Great location if your goal is to be driving distance to the Monterey Bay Aquarium (10 - 15 min drive), Monterey itself, and Pacific Grove. Also a pleasant 15 minute drive to Carmel-by-the-Sea. Room was clean when we arrived. But you have to contact the front desk if you want your room clean, get new towels, get more Keurig pods, shampoo, soap, etc. Mattresses were soft. We are firm mattress people. Our room was upstairs. Quiet. Loved the fireplace at night. It helped to keep the room warm (we stayed first week of March). Plenty of cable channels to keep the family happy at night. In terms of price, worth staying during the off season. There is an additional daily $20 amenities fee + local taxes and fees (daily breakfast, parking, WiFi) that wasnt clearly advertised on Hotel Abregos website or the Agoda site (that is were I made reservations). Rooms: Deluxe Room with 2 queen size beds was big for family of 4. Plenty of TV Channels (HGTV, CNN, Kids Channels, etc). Each of the rooms have a gaslit fireplace (great for Fall and Winter). Keurig in the room (coffee and tea pods). Nearby activities: 15 min drive to Carmel-by-the Sea during the week. Close to drive around the coast (Pacific Grove). Easy to get to Costco at Seaside. Costco Gas Station is about a block away from Costco. Walkability: If you have kids, Hotel Abrego is not walking distance to the harbor/aquarium. I asked about walking to the aquarium. The hotel clerks laughed and said no. Noteworthy details: You can easily walk to Trader Joes to get snacks, drinks, packaged food. Up the street you can drive to Del Monte Shopping Center. The Pizza My Heart is opened to 10 pm. They have a $20 special for a Large Pepperoni during the week. Many of restaurants close in the area around 8 pm. There is a $20 amenities fee/night. You get daily breakfast (changes every day, but average), WiFi (speed was good), parking, Happy Hour - a glass or red or white wine (however, no snacks (not even pretzel mix)
