I hired Aaron on a monthly basis mid-2020 and set up regular online appointments. Toward the end of the year, he began canceling appointments frequently, often at the last minute. He then told me right before a meeting that he was retiring immediately, but would continue working with me on a month over month basis. He encouraged me to sign up for several paid financial products and services, which I did. He was going to teach me how to use all of them. Then, in January, again at the last minute before we were supposed to meet, he informed me abruptly that he was now completely retiring and would no longer be able to work with me. While he was very knowledgeable, working with him was very chaotic and disjointed, and his repeated back and forth on retiring (in his 40s, mind you) appeared to be happening among a lot of personal chaos as well. I continued to receive invoices even after we severed ties. This was 7 months of lost time, a bunch of money out the door, and a strong sense that I was never getting the straight story. Perhaps it was just bad timing, but I had a terrible experience with Mr Johnson. I also find it curious that after telling me repeatedly that he was completely retiring, he still has a website up that says he's taking new clients.
