I got new phones from Verizon. I have no WiFi while I'm on vacation here so I went to the Verizon store to help but was told when I got there it's $30 per line for them to do it so I left. Went to Starbucks and enjoyed coffee while I used their free WiFi. I never was charged for Verizon to help in past. Guess less and less from Verizon nowadays.

This 5-star rating is for Chris, a manager at this store in Happy Valley. Everyone else is nice enough, which is to say a lot compared to other Verizon stores. But nice isn't enough in business. We had been trying to get our phones switched from another carrier to Verizon prepaid for months, to no avail. We had been told to leave other Verizon stores and making appointments did not help either. We tried this the first time at this store in February. We spent about an hour with Aubrey and then another two hours with Robert. They tried everything they could think of but were not able to switch our phones. We made another appointment for early today and spent about 2.5 hours with Chris, who is one of the managers. We were extremely lucky that he was the person who was available to help us. He was outstanding! He knew right away what the problem was and got us started on the right track. He ended up spending more than an hour on the phone with a supervisor technician who was excellent and was able to fix numerous glitches to get the phones switched over. In the end, he was successful and we are now with Verizon. Chris deserves to be a Senior Manager or have a higher position. It would be sad not to be able to ask him for help in the future but he deserves it. It takes a lot of knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile. Chris took the initiative and did what was necessary. We left with broad smiles on our faces and relief from months of an ongoing battle with this situation. The first time we attempted this switch at this store, Aubrey with the advice of her manager, tried to charge us twice, stating that the first charge did not go through. Thankfully, I called the credit card company and they confirmed that we had been charged. After an hour, Aubrey was frustrated and wanted to move on to another customer. She wanted to leave us to make a phone call to technical support on our own. We insisted and she called using the number they have and was able to access someone. They decided not to follow the advice of the phone technician. Finally, Robert, who is also a manager, took over. He tried many things but got frustrated with the technician he was speaking to on the phone, who did not speak English very well and was not helpful. Instead of asking for a supervisor, Robert gave up that route. He tried for two hours to switch our lines, to no avail. Finally, he gave us his number and told us to contact him after he submitted a ticket to technical support and requested a refund of our money. After close to a month, we have not received a refund for the money we paid. The glitch was never resolved. Robert never called us nor replied to our texts. This was a successful transaction thanks solely to Chris and I believe the supervisor's name he mentioned was Ashley. The 5 stars go to Chris and her. Thank you!
