We have had issues from the beginning. There were blemishes all over and were told it was a curing prmonths later and they were still there. We tried calling but got no response after several calls. Now we have dirt staining and after 3 calls had someone come out. Again with excuses, he had an excuse for everything. I did run into an ex employee and loved his comment, SHAFTYA POOLS. That truly fits. Services: General construction, Swimming pool resurfacing

I regret to say that my experience with Shasta Pools has been nothing short of a nightmare. Our journey with Shasta began in February 2021 when we signed a contract with promises of a completed pool within five months. Little did we know, this was just the beginning of a series of disappointments and frustrations that would stretch well into the following year. Despite assurances, we found ourselves unable to swim until June of 2022, a full year beyond the promised completion date. We were given an onboarding by a Shasta Expert to go over the details of our pool equipment and maintenance. The incompetence displayed by Shasta became glaringly evident when, in August of 2022, it was discovered that the plumbing had been installed incorrectly, AND the gas for the heater had not even been connected. Shockingly, these critical errors went unnoticed during our onboarding as well as several inspections by the superintendent supposedly in charge. Once the pool was finally operational, the litany of issues persisted. The spa, a key feature of our investment, leaked not once, but twice, with water seeping onto the spa foundation. Currently the spa sends water to the travertine, risking erosion. Astonishingly, we were told by Shasta that such occurrences were 'normal', demonstrating a shocking lack of accountability and disregard for quality. The travertine, promised to be completed by Shasta, was left unfinished, transforming our walkway into a hazard. Despite assurances that they would cover the completion costs, we were left with a mere fraction of the promised reimbursement. Also, we had ordered color lights for the pool. Shasta installed color in 2 of the 3 lights. We had also paid extra for an automated pool system. This system was not installed and was nonfunctional during the onboarding. This was also not discovered. To add insult to injury, a skimmer was discovered to be capped underground, rendering it non-functional, further exemplifying the shoddy workmanship we had come to expect from Shasta. Our woes did not end with the pool. The installation of a pergola by Shasta proved to be another disaster. Faulty electrical work resulted in constant tripping of the GFI, and upon inspection, it was revealed that the conduit run was not up to code, and the wiring had been damaged, causing an active short to ground. Moreover, the box for the fan/light fixture was incorrect, allowing rainwater to seep into our fixtures. Repairing the faulty wiring was a $1999 repair bill. In total, we have incurred approximately $4000 in repairs and inspections, a staggering sum for work that should have been executed flawlessly by Shasta. Yet, despite being promised warranty coverage, we have refrained from availing it, as our confidence in Shasta's ability to deliver on their commitments has been utterly shattered. Communication with Shasta was a debacle, with weeks passing before we received updates on the status of our project. It is abundantly clear that Shasta Pools prioritizes profit over integrity, leaving customers like us in the lurch, grappling with the aftermath of their ineptitude. In conclusion, I implore anyone considering Shasta Pools to heed our warning: steer clear. The sheer incompetence and lack of accountability displayed by Shasta make them unworthy of your trust or patronage. Save yourself the anguish and seek out a reputable company that values craftsmanship and customer satisfaction above all else.

Communication and customer service was non-existent. They painted the pool the wrong color and then laughed and told us "maybe you'll end up liking it." Did not update the program they wanted us to use (Builder Trend) and we ended up overpaying before the pool was even finished. Took 6 weeks to get our money back. Would get emails at the END of the day from Alexis Florio (the supposed "coordinator") saying the workers would not be there that day. The rest of the time, random people would show up in the backyard and we had no idea they were coming. Broke irrigation pipes and when we asked when they were going to fix them so they could continue the process, they told us our HOA should fix them. Told us we were the ones that had to get SWG to come out and inspect the gas installation as SWG wasn't responding to Shasta's emails. Customer service wise, they never returned phone calls and took up to a week to get back to us with emails. Installed equipment with no manual on how it works. Have had 4 service people out to help us figure things out. Still trying to get the owner of the company to call me. I've left four messages. For a big ticket item such as a pool, you would expect decent customer service. I would NEVER recommend this company and would advise to run the opposite direction.

Ron we are so sorry that you are upset. Our warranty and service manager has left you a message with the results of the tests we found with your water. Your pH measured at 8.4 and your TDS, total dissolved solids, were at 4500. With measurement results like this, the "hardness" in the water falls out of solution and starts to crystalize at the bottom of swimming pool (almost like a calcium build up) and what's left will grab any dirt in the pool and cling to it, sort of like barnacles on a boat (for lack of a better analogy). This is a pool chemistry issue that can be helped by draining the pool, acid washing the interior to get the scale off and then refilling. Please let us know if we can help you with that.

Sam, we empathize with your feeling about us and are so very sorry it took so long to build your pool. Candidly we struggled during the 2021-2022 time as the industry was hit hard with labor and material shortages. This hurt all of our customers during this time and the entire industry. If we could go back in time to see what was coming, we would have radically changed our approach and likely would have turned down pool sales knowing what we know now. Not that this helps your experience but it was tough enough on us to invest in totally new communication and project management systems. The average project from excavation/dig is now only taking an average of 2.5 months. We would give anything for this to have been your experience. We are truly sorry about that timeline but we are still here to serve you if you ever have a warranty or service need. Thank you.
