Budget Car Rental

ZERO STARS. My experience with Budget is the worst travel experience I've ever had. When I arrived to pick up the car I'd reserved (and paid for) weeks prior, I was told there was no vehicle for me. 3,000 miles away from home by myself2 hours away from the airport and a flight departing in 4 hours, I was floored. I sat in the lobby of the Budget office and cried. I called other rental car agencies to no avail, searched for a bus or shuttle, even tried to see if an Uber could get me there on time. No luck. Finally, after an hour of me loitering in the lobby because I had nowhere to go and no one to call, the manager procured a car for me. It was filthy with a broken window and chipped windshield. While I was grateful to not miss my flight, the state of the vehicle provided was absurd. I managed to make it to the airport on time but there was no one working the Budget counter for me to return the car (mind you, this was late morning at a VERY busy international airport). I was told by airport staff all I needed to do was leave the keys in the car and head to the gate, so I did. The next day I received a text message from Budget saying I hadn't returned my car. I called and spoke to a customer service person explaining the fiasco, feeling very much like I should not have to pay $200 for the filthy busted car I received, and she said she'd look into it. I never heard back, but a couple days later received a receipt for additional chargesbilling me for an extra day EVEN THOUGH I RETURNED THE CAR TWO HOURS AFTER I RENTED IT. The absolute worst.

We were stranded in flagstaff and Gene from the route 66 location went above and beyond to help us, he not only was polite his customer service was the best ever ,we need more like him.he made a stressful situation easier.thank you so much for your help.

Rented a truck and drove it from Peoria, AZ and didnt even make it North to Flagstaff. Call road side assistance and waited 6 hr to tell me that the truck would not make it to my final destination. I drove to the local dealer and they told me I needed to leave the store because they were closing. They literally kicked me out and left me stranded. I called everyone and their mother and they told me I can pay for hotel or rental car. No help rude people dont care as long as they get there money. Who kicks someone out when its snowing and leaves them stranded. I will never use them again. All of them are rude inconsiderate people. Their truck breaks ooppps sorry but screw you. Youre on your own.

Id leave no stars if I could. Made a reservation about a month ago. Got the confirmation email, a reminder and then the reminder day of pickup. I go to get my rental and I sit there for about 20 minutes and they tell me they cant find my reservation. I gave them the number and to no avail they said you must have been randomly deleted and not notified. Makes no sense to me because I have all these reminders sent from you guys on my phone. I asked about the 5 trucks they have parked outside but they are ALL BROKEN. I told them I move tonight and the guy behind the counter told me I was S.O.L. and couldnt help me. So I had to go pay double for a U-haul. This place will not help you in anyway. Also while I was there, this lady came in for a rental car and immediately came back because the rental car they gave her was metal on rotor on all 4 wheels. Didnt even make it out of the parking lot. 02/01/2024.

Gene is the manager at the flagstaff budget rent a car. I have worked with him all summer. Respectful and reliable. You rarely meet people who are this nice in today's world. He explains everything. The nice and most wonderful sentence to hear was " we look forward to seeing you." Who goes that far nowadays? Bought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face. Made having to get a rental car bareable and a permanent customer.
