Thank all the gods for this place! As someone who suffered from dehydration on a regular basis (no matter how water much I drink,) I have been blessed by these locations where you can get IV fluids with our without a drs orders! In this case, however, the dr on the GMUC side DID see I was dehydrated! He also examined my throat and did a full exam, including EKG for to chest pains (probably caused by the horrible coughing I had been experiencing for 5 days since my Covid symptoms started.) This is SO MUCH MORE THAN THE ER DOCS at Singing River did when I saw them 2 DAYS BEFORE! They DIDN'T EVEN LOOK IN MY THROAT. After diagnosing an Upper Respiratory Infection and Dehydration, due to the covid infection, the doctor Rx IV liquids, a Steroid shot, an antibiotic, a B12 shot, and a shot for nausea, as the coughing and choking was preventing me from eating enough. I have been a fan of the GMUC on Schillinger for years (closer to where I live in Grand Bay, ) but, the VA (who pays for my community care,) agreed I should have received fluids in the ER, and definitely needed them by yesterday, so this was my first time visiting this location. The entire staff was welcoming, courteous, concerned, REALLY LISTENED to my complaints and concerns (and wishes, as they understand someone who is 62 obviously is attuned to their own body more than someone just meeting them, or even seeing them briefly every few months, or so, like you see most medical personnel.) They ALL did a wonderful job making me as comfortable as possible (hurting me as little as possible during tests and treatments, and just took great care of me throughout the experience. The facility is very attractive and b clean, like all the GMUC locations I've visited. Again, I will highly recommended GMUC to you!!!
