Greater Mobile Urgent Care

The next time I want this level of care I'll go ask a class of special needs children... came in with DARK GREEN mucus and extreme sinus pressure.... DARK GREEN MUCUS MEANS I HAVE A SINUS INFECTION I've been dealing with upper respiratory infections since I was a child. My stuff doesn't drain right, it gets infected in there, pure and simple as that, this nurse that claims to be a doctor says its caused by a virus and gives me cough medicine.... I'm sorry, but if I cut my hand on a whole jar of viruses, when it gets infected do I need to search the world for antiviral cream, OR SHOULD I FIGHT THE INFECTION WITH ANTIBIOTICS!!!!!!????? I don't care at all what caused it I'm trying to COMBAT THE INFECTION THAT IS NOW PRESENT!!!!!! Go elsewhere at all cost. They'd probably just superglue a cut closed so they don't have to use brain power for stitches. Waste of time and money.

I have been coming to this Urgent Care for about 3 years now and everyone is always so nice but at one point you could tell there was some new staff (which is fine they were all so nice just sometimes felt they didnt really know what next steps to take or made a few mistakes - again totally fine I get it everyone starts somewhere AND the staff was ALWAYSso nice! BUT I had to go today and Dr. Nolan was super sweet and maintained eye contact and did a through exam! Sometimes Ive come and PAs or MDs have lacked eye contact or there was a lot of awkward silence. Dr. Nolan was efficient, confident, and answered all my questions! I also forgot the name of the black lady who took me back and did triage but she had braids and a charm bracelet - also SUPER sweet and engaged in conversation, great eye contact, 10/10 service! Its late and I know theyre tired but these days its been rare to still have people in healthcare be patient with you and kind and it was much appreciated!

I usually receive fairly decent care here but this weekend, I went in with something my husband had gotten treated for earlier in the week. I explained to them that all of his test came back neg and they prescribed him a z pack and he began feeling better the next day. The difference between my husband and I was that he never ran a fever and I had a small fever on and off. They prescribed me something different. Not an antibiotic. They also knew I had been taking cough syrup to help manag symptoms. Because this script wasn't helping much and I wasn't told NOT to continue to take cough syrup, I was taking it simultaneously only to find out that I was accidentally over dosing because one of the key ingredients in this medicine is found in every cough syrup and the internet was pretty adament that you shouldn't take cough syrup at the same time as this med. This med, BTW, is not covered by most insurances but can be found over the counter in products like mucinex for much less. Anyway, my fever has gone up, I'm having trouble getting it to break because the I turned was unclear on if I can take a fever reducer with this med so cold compresses will have to do until I can see my primary doc. I can't help but wonder if my husband and I received different care because I'm a woman. I normally wouldn't think this if it weren't for the fact that I told them what he was prescribed, that it helped, and the fact that I had a fever and he didn't.
