We have had a great experience with Jennifer and Victoria at Wag the Dog. Jennifer is clearly very experienced in dealing with difficult dog behaviors, so we knew right away that our dog would be able to get the help she needed. What we appreciated nearly as much was Jennifer’s ability to communicate well with us, and how professional and put-together the entire experience has been (having a multi-media virtual training session, getting tailor-made explainer pieces on training techniques, etc.). We had tried multiple trainers and techniques over the years, so we were glad to finally find an approach that was truly science-based, wasn’t harsh or punitive, and…that worked! We have really appreciated that we were never made to feel guilty for having a dog with unresolved behavioral issues or for previously trying methods that Jennifer wouldn’t have recommended – she just focused on educating us on the new techniques for our dog and was always very understanding. Along with the periodic check-ins from Victoria and her additional pointers, they are a team who genuinely cares about both the dog and humans in our family. Our pup has made so much progress and we look forward to working more with Wag the Dog!

Jennifer was so supportive as we helped our dog adjust to our new baby. The virtual training was especially helpful, because our dog was able to focus on the training rather than be distracted by a new person to play with. Jennifer really helped us understand what our dog was thinking and how we could best respond to him during a stressful transition for him. Victoria's follow up emails were also a great way to help us stay on track.

When my wife and I adopted our dog, Bear, she was a very shy and timid girl, around dogs, humans, and any big sounds. Working with Jennifer and Wag the Dog And Company in their Life Skills classes was an absolute game changer for us. Bear came out of her shell, learned to trust and love her humans and other dogs, and of course some essential skills including walking (not pulling) on leash, 'leave it', having her paws/ears handled, proper socializing with other pups, and so much more. The training and guidance from Jennifer strengthened our bond and has set us all up for success. Jennifer was so patient and made accommodations for us, as Bear needed lots of extra time to get inside buildings without other dogs as a distraction. Now, when people who met Bear when we first adopted her can barely believe she's the same girl! Now she's so social, eager for pets/treats, and knows that's she safe with us no matter what. We can't recommend Wag the Dog And Company enough!

I would like to start off by saying that wag the dog are awesome at what they do! They helped my pup Shiloh and I big time! I reached out to them because my pup, despite almost turning three years old, was still having occasional inappropriate urination and defecation inside the house when left alone. For a long time I thought I had failed at potty training and felt defeated. I decided to get a cámara to find out at what time after being alone we would eliminate inside the house. What I found out was way more concerning than what I thought... My dog (a male Husky) would begin howling, chewing at the kennel bars urinating on himself and having panic attack type events every time he was left alone, my heart broke when I saw this.. because despite being a husky he is a very nice, quiet and calm dog. Luckily Jennifer helped us identify that Shiloh’s problem was separation anxiety. I felt very comfortable during the whole process, Jen has been a wonderful leader helping Shiloh learn that it is OK to stay alone sometimes. I’ve learned that every dog is different and it may take longer for some to feel comfortable. Shiloh has just entered the 3 minute mark with me standing outside behind all doors, he is so comfortable that he falls asleep and that couldn’t make me happier! I know we still have a very long way to go, but I’m confident that we will reach our goal of 5 hours. Jen has given us the tools we need to make it happen, I could not be more thankful. This training has already brought so much peace to our home! I highly recommend them! -Angeles V.
