    I had an absolutely miserable experience trying to get CenturyLink service hooked up this week. I booked an appointment for 6 PM with a technician a week in advance. At 12PM the day of, I got a text from the technician saying he was on his way to my house. I texted him back that I could not make it there before 6. No response. At 5 PM I received another text that the technician had arrived at my house. I told him again that my appointment was at 6 and I was not there. In any case, I rushed over and was there 15 minutes later. The tech was not there and sent me a message that since I was not there when he arrived, I would have to reschedule my appointment. I tried calling him back but no answer. I then called customer support and they said the earliest available time was 5 days from then. Unacceptable. Shortly thereafter the tech called me back and claimed he waited 30 minutes for me (obviously not true since I was there 15 minutes after he said he got there) we exchanged words and then he said that he had scheduled his team to come back to my house the next day. I texted and called him many times throughout the next day trying to get some information on what time they would arrive, they never did. Eventually I called customer support and they, of course, had no record of this second appointment. They were otherwise unhelpful and it was clear the tech had lied to me. It should go without saying that I will be taking my business elsewhere. Does Centurylink encourage their technicians to show up to customers' homes at completely random times, waste our time, and to lie to us? Or is this behavior just tolerated?
