Been generally happy with the Poulsbo store, but the recent changes in hours with no warning and no updates to the web or phone message is really iritating. Went at 7:20 to pick up some labels for my wife's business... web said closes at 8 as does the phone message... got there new computer printed sign "New Store Hours 10 am - 6 pm"

Had a large (36" x 160") print format that OfficeMax was able to easily accommodate and turn around in a very acceptable time frame. The direct service i received as a first time customer was personal and impressed me enough to bring additional print needs even though the $ is a bit steep.

Officemax printing job was overpriced, slow, unpleasant, and ultimately never completed. Local company, Blue Sky Printing, poulsbo, WA, did the same exact job for half the price and in half the time with a helpful attitude all around. April 4th, the store gave me a quote of $680 for 5k postcards which I paid for. 2 days later they emailed to say they needed another 300 to finish the job. Juan, the manager, said the misquote was due to an inexperienced employee but he had a seasoned employee helping him through the process. When explaining that the quote would not be honored, he was defensive and ineffective saying he felt the transaction was professional and that I had to wait 24 hours for a refund. Instead of a refund we received the following email saying our refund would take a week: Hi Heather, Thanks so much for your business and for contacting us regarding order #237844982. We received the request from the store to cancel the order. We are sorry to inform you as per the request, As per the request I have cancelled this order and processed credit for $682.50 which will be refunded within 3-7 business days to your account. The credit confirmation # 237903142. Again, thanks for the opportunity to review this transaction and thanks for being our valued customer Regards Keerthana Elangovan I had to shell out another $300+ to another company before I received my refund from Office Max who can take your money in 30 seconds but needs a week to give it back. Keerthana had this short and unsatisfying reply: Hi Zach, Sorry for the trouble we have initiated a request for credit. This request has to be approved by our warehouse team, hence the delay. Please don't worry we will make sure for the credit to be reflected to your account. Regards Keerthana Elangovan But of course I worried. Every employee of OfficeMax bungled every step of the process and the emails arent even written properly. I needed this job done quickly so I didnt shop around. I usually try to shop local - this was my punishment for deviating. Not being familiar with the area, I went with what I thought to be a reputable big chain to churn out my mailing fast. Lesson learned: never again.
