I respond to all, or nearly all reviews, whether they be positive or negative. My response is not an indication of or verification of the poster received any services from us- knowing that anyone can leave a review and it doesn't matter if we provided any service or not. Not all of my responses here are related to this review, but were included as an opportunity to provide useful understanding to all. With that being said, if a difficulty with our clinic arises, please let me know and I can likely resolve that issue, or refer you to someone at another clinic who could possibly.Next, yes, we have a therapist going to complete her doctorate. We are very proud of her and happy for her ongoing development! I am very happy to help deepen the professional development of my colleagues! Yes, there is a shortage of qualified candidates right now, but we were able to bring on 2 new providers recently. We just learned one will be starting next week as a target date, and the other is preparing the last steps and will start soon after that.Regarding the phones: Given societal pressures and recent traumas we all faced, there is a substantially increased need for services and we receive numerous calls each day. The phone is very frequently ringing and if staff are on another line, or are meeting the needs of people inside the clinic, they will not answer the phone and I am very fine with that. We prioritize the people right in front of us over the numerous others calling, or repeatedly calling the telephone- so leave a message and wait for a response. As mentioned, we have a number of people calling repeatedly one after another and this causes further congestion and makes it exceedingly difficult to receive messages left and respond in a short time. We always respond, but not always immediately. We know people are suffering and this gives them a greater sense of urgency and importance. We always do our best, and we can only do that. To further address this need, we increased the methods of contact for scheduling and communication with providers through the patient portal. We prefer established patients to use that system so that people seeking services for the first time can actually speak with a person.Also, because there is a very high demand for services, any patients who miss appointments enough or are not compliant with the treatment process are removed from the schedule. Our mission is to combat human suffering in all its forms to the extent of our ability. If people are not following the treatment plan they agreed to follow, this includes missing appointments, then they are taking the place of someone else who needs the service. Not only is missing commitments harmful to us, it is harmful to the greater community and so we are substantially less generous to those taking such space consistently from others and remove them from the schedule.As far as the issue of being unprofessional I am really failing to see the connection between an "Off and on," patient through the years not being able to make an appointment immediately at any time and the claim we are being unprofessional because circumstances dictated that demand far outweighs supply right now. I am not sure how we can improve upon our capacity to provide immediate attention. Therapy involves consistency and therapists are not interchangeable parts that do exactly the same thing. A huge part of the the healing process involves that relationship you build with your therapist. That requires consistency and dedication to the treatment plan and treatment process. Without the hard work of those we serve, we are limited in what we can do to help.I appreciate negative reviews as well because some of them may have valid criticism and this makes us better. In the case of this review, I do not see how the claims made are accurate.
