While visiting my children at the holiday times, I realize the unit had a problem. We contacted management to my surprise they had sent someone over shortly after that, his name is Benjamin. He was very nice, polite and courtesy, we dont find that too much in these times. He did rectify the problem, and I was very pleased. Being a landlord myself, its hard to find good people that know what theyre doing. Thank you Kensington Crossing, we need more people like Benjamin. Thank you MC

These people actually inserted a clause in my lease that said if Im 1 day late there would be a 90 dollar late charge.I was told after 7 days they would lock me out of my apartment which is illegal.According to the landlord tenant act of Virginia their suppose to give 24 hour notice upon entering a residence for maintenance.Spearheaded by Patricia they attempted to enter my apartment without notice. So glad I moved out of that place

Communication from leasing office is horrible!!! Called to have big dumpster open for extra large box that I have from my new patio set. The leasing office requested months ago that we call to request dumpster be unlocked. Today I call to request the large dumpster be open and was informed the decision was made 2 weeks ago to no longer accept large boxes with not communication to the community that this decision was made. I was told the dumpster portion is not part of the trash service I pay for. Ok thats fine but where is the communication that large boxes are no longer being accepted. Ive lived here 3 years. The dumpster has always been a part of the trash service I pay for. Also, if you want continued water leaking into your apartment come on over and lease at Kensington. I cant wait until my lease ends. The 1st year here was amazing. The last 2 years have been nothing but issue after issue and now lack of communication has begun.

My now husband and I lived here for 2 years (2021-23). And boy do I have some words to share. Overall, Kensington isnt the worse place to live but its not the best. **TLDR: Maintenance wont tell you when they come to fix things, and may do crappy patch jobs. Trash is about $35/month and youll see it overflowing often. (Expect balcony inspections every few months.) Packages can easily get lost at times because the building numbers and apartment numbers are too similar. My tip to future renters: if you need something done, KEEP ALL receipts and photo/video evidence.** Packages often get mixed up because numbering is way too similar across the buildings - weve lost packages and have had to hunt them down when mis-delivered. With some going fully missing or stolen, and we couldnt get it remedied. They like to send email blasts, and the most common ones I would see were about trash being disposed of properly. Youll pay about $33 for a monthly trash reimbursement fee due to so many apartments and the fee is so trash can be collected more frequently which is what I was told when moving in back in 2021. You can expect it to overflow often though, as in at least every 1-2 weeks. Oh, and they do run who wants to win $250 gift card contests for those who leave 5-star reviews, especially when those reviews mention employee names - so be mindful of them when looking through reviews! Our biggest battle was with maintenance being a nightmare to deal with. They stopped notifying us when theyve entered our space to fulfill a request after our first few months there. (Ex: changed our toilet handles, we only knew about it because the old ones were left in our trash can). Maintenance requests arent consistently updated in the portal in a timely manner so its a guessing game when they come by and when things are looked at/fixed. (Ex: in one day, 3 of our requests were updated after weeks of being in progress with no visible signs anything was done). In 2022, our water heater was fixed with a patch-job that broke within a day; we were awoken at night by water exploding everywhere. It was fixed with a new patch job (i.e. chunk of marble, wood, and concrete holding the pipe still). This summer (2023), like many, our AC unit barely worked and we did everything we could. It was fully off more than it was on during the hottest days because it couldnt blow any air out. We struggled to keep it under 75 daily. Wed call and submit multiple requests, yet no one could tell us why we had the same issues for months. No one should have to live with a loud droning sound heard from every inch of their apartment - especially to the point of it causing daily headaches. I had to even get earplugs & noise canceling headphones just to sleep: and one night I had a trip to the ER because I was in so much pain and couldnt escape the sound in my own home. Going June to November and still having the same issues = stupidity and laziness from almost everyone involved (there was only 1 person who was helpful but it didnt last). We had to pay almost double our electrics typical cost during that time just to have a barely comfortable temperature for 5.5 months - including the cost for us to run fans we had to purchase solely for this problem. Our last maintenance request was even cancelled as if we didnt put it in (conveniently cancelled right before we moved out after sitting in progress for weeks prior) - but hey, theyll take care of it in a timely manner. As long as they have your money, it doesnt matter though I guess.
