Jewelers Workbench

This place is amazing. I brought in my old engagement ring in to have re-sized to fit my right hand middle finger. The owner, Henry, was very realistic about the complications of resizing the ring due to the pave bagettes down the sides and slim width at the bottom. He wanted to make sure I was mindful about how the ring may turn out so that I was informed making the decision to move forward and to make certain I had realistic expectations of the end result. I dropped the ring off late Friday afternoon and he had it back to me Saturday morning even though I was expecting it to take a week. The ring looks amazing, better than when I brought it in after having it sized down. The extra piece of platinum he put in is blended beautifully. The end result is above and beyond what I had expected and he was able to complete the resizing without resorting to any of the potential imperfections he warned me about. The price was reasonable especially in light of the fact other jewelers had been weary of doing the work. I highly recommend this jeweler and plan on being a repeat customer. I browsed the gallery while I was waiting and they have beautiful original pieces. I plan on doing some Christmas shopping there in the near future.

If I could give less than 1 star I would! I went to the Jeweler's Workbench because they had been recommended by a family member. I brought in an old diamond ring, several pictures from other designers, and sketches that I had made of a new ring that I wanted made. I was told it would be no problem that their jeweler could do specialized orders so that it would be just what I wanted. I went in several times. They asked me to leave the ring with them so that they could measure the stones and have their jeweler do a mock up of the ring that they would be making for me. They called me in and said that they had the mock up ready. I went in and it was not even close to what I had drawn. I explained the problems that I saw and how I wanted the ring changed. They assured me that they would not cut into my ring until I gave them the go ahead. However, they did, and then they made the ring that I had said was not how I wanted it. Did I mention that the jeweler never bothered to come and talk to me directly and that his staff continued to run back and forth between him and I, instead of him coming and talking to me directly. Or that the ring was supposed to be white gold and he made it out of yellow? Or that if I wanted my diamonds and gold back from the original ring that he had turned into this new ring I would have to pay several hundred dollars? Take your business elsewhere, you would be better off.

Run away quick! They made multiple mistakes on my custom ring and then when I bought it one of the stones fell out! I work in computers it isn't like I am rough with my hands go to Americas Diamond their prices are better and if one of their stones falls out they replace it for free!

The owner is very knowledgeable about jewelry. The repair I needed was simple but he still went over how he would repair the jewelry. He also repaired it much faster than expected...and it was a quality repair.
