I moved my family member to this facility in November from a facility that was giving him poor care. I was amazed at the cleanliness of the facility and the attentiveness of the staff. I also have observed him enjoying the meals that he is served, saying it is delicious. He had been complaining about the food at the other facility I moved him from. The most amazing difference I see with this facility is that they keep family informed of what is happening. Not only that, but he is being cared for so well that everyone that visits states he looks great! Juan and his staff have gone above and beyond for my family member. I would recommend anyone needing care for family to check this facility out for themselves.

My family has had to deal with several nursing homes. We were so Blessed when a friend told us about Garden Ridge Assisted Living. We saw a difference right away. The place is beautiful and well kept. There are not enough words to express the loving, caring and professionalism of the staff . We are forever grateful and appreciate the care they gave to my Mom. My Mother passed away last month and to know how well she was loved and taken care is such a comfort. If you or anyone you know needs their services..Please give them a call. You will find peace knowing your loved one is in the best of hands..Thank You So much Garden Assisted Living..We love you all.

I am a former hospice nurse and frequented this place regularly, along with the other home they own. Expect that as soon as you move your loved one in, you will be pushed and pushed to put them on hospice services and have their medications changed. The owner (Juan) will push that you sign up for whatever hospice his daughter resides over at the time- making that hospice money and the care home saves on all kinds of supplies (that you think you are paying for). Patient are given dinner by 4PM and put to bed by 6, then call hospice to complain of insomnia when they wake up 8 hours later (2AM). So sleeping pills are given when that happens. The owner will try and impress you because he has his nursing degree, but has never actually practiced outside of his hime enough to know anything. He shares medications from other hospice patients to sedate as he sees fit.. if Your loved one walks around, that is a problem so they will be wheelchair bound soon, then bed bound. Staff is cleaning and cooking around the clock, with a skeleton crew, maybe ONE worker at night so residents need to stay put. Speaking of workers, they can either barely speak English or none at all.

This place is clean. Cameras in the common areas and you will be recorded live & the owner is listening & watching in real time. Initially I asked about a cook because many places use the CNAs as their cooks and not all of them can cook. The owner said he had a cook. This lasted for 2 weeks then the helpers he hired from Mexico on visitor visas take over (see pic of typical dinner). The owner and his wife plus another person helping out were on the premises for approximately 2 weeks then the helpers on visitor visas from Mexico took over ( they speak little to no English nor understand little to no English but thats ok because remember you are on camera and can call the owner for translation). The helpers seem to be in constant fear of the owner. On the weekends a man comes to play the electric piano & one resident is handed a morroca to shake throughout each song (this is called enrichment) which makes the other residents incredibly nervous. The owner prefaces statements with I will not be held responsible if certain treatments are not done his way. I had to call 911 because my parent was catatonic but the helpers did not catch on to that. When the paramedics asked the owner (who showed up) for my parents meds he handed them the bottles, one if which did not even belong to my parent! The owner & his wife will be attentive & on site for the 1st couple of weeks (the wife was the cook he told me he had. But as I stated before she will go away & the helpers from Mexico will start cooking, no bueno.) The food got cheaper and left overs used more often. One day a Little Debbie snack was the dessert, so nutritious. You will not be allowed to hang pictures or bring sentimental items from home because the owner found bed bugs once on a residents items and again, he will not be held responsible for such things. In the month and 2 weeks we allowed my parents to stay I saw 2 patients family come by, both on their birthdays and then one of those residents passed away. If you want a clean place this is for you, because the owner watches his workers on live camera and makes them run around constantly. The owner will push & push you to use the hospice services that one if his his daughters happens to manages, constant phone calls & texts about this. If you want a place to park your parent in a clean environment with little contact with family, this place would work. The owner is insufferable though.
