1-800-PACK-RAT Moving and Storage

We had a great experience with 1-800-pack-rat. I was worried about seeing all the bad reviews, but they were half the price of PODS, so I decided to go for it. This review is for others like me, who may be reading all the bad reviews questioning if the price is worth the gamble. For me, it was. Their online system is very user friendly. I always found it easy and quick to chat with a representative or talk with someone on the phone. We shipped our entire house from Texas to Washington, with some storage in between. All of our things were undamaged, though I was careful to pack them appropriately. Container pick up and drop off was always easy. I made sure the schedule 2-3 weeks in advance. The drivers were prompt and on time. I always received a call reminding and informing me of the scheduled times. I would use them again and recommend them to family and friends.

They left the storage container at my house for over 3 days even though i requested a next day pick up. The container was blocking my garage and i could not park my car. Very disappointed. I will jever use them again. Why cant I talk to a local person. The Houston office has a 2.7 rating. That is how you how bad they are when the 1 stars out number all the other stars. STAY AWAY DONT USE THEM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I'd give 1 star if I new for 100% certainty but I can't prove it so they get a 2 star rating. My wife and mother inlaw both have purchased a pack rat this month and both have had fraudulent alerts and charges to their account and the only place they've both given card info is pack rat...needless to say it doesn't add up well for pack rat

Awful experience! There motto is moving made simple, it's anything but simple! On the day our unit was supposed to be delivered we received a call stating the truck broke down and the delivery would be days later. Our next question was is there another truck that can deliver our unit. NO! Why would a moving company not have another truck available? Does this company not invest in their business? We had to hire movers to unpack the unit and move it to our home. This was an extra expense that Pack Rat would not reimburse us. It took several phone calls to even get a partial reimbursement for the initial delivery of the unit. To make matters worse they texted to say they could not pick up the unit for several days. Now it's sitting in the driveway of a home we no longer own. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!
