The beds were clean but the smell was weird. We didnt shower because it didnt seem clean. The coffee was horrible and the breakfast was nearly empty an hour into it. If you are passing through it is fine but be prepped to go anywhere else for anything else. They also charged my card when I booked on points. I stoat a lot of hotels and this is def one to avoid down the road with my kids.

Great front desk staff - that were super helpful, welcoming and friendly. Considering their own limited resources, they helped out every way they could. This hotel is a super convenient spot with nearby eating & shopping within walking distance. Our group of 4 decided to stay in Houston for a couple of days post a cruise, to just check it out. I chose this hotel for its convenient location. The building structure itself is old. Thanks to this, it unexpectedly features (on the ground floor, anyways) unusually large rooms of character, not at all typical of what you would expect of similar hotel layouts of this grade. Thru no fault of their staff, there is mustiness in the air, probably due to old carpeting and/or the age of the building itself. My dust allergies kicked in, but not to a serious level. Upgrades to the rooms are sorely needed as definitely carpeting is old, some bathroom holes were patched with commercial-grade tape & some doors had multiple spots of surface damage. But if you dont care about these cosmetic imperfections, these rooms were great! (*note: did not see any room safes) The bedding weight was fantastic ~ so I slept like a baby. Linens were clean and fresh. I appreciate the bathroom air fan & room air conditioner fan as they provided decent air flow. Wifi connection was good and TV channels were decent. Dont come for the breakfast, but for its convenience, clean rooms and staff.

This was actually my second time staying at this hotel. The first time I stayed everything went well and I was satisfied with my stay overall. This visit was not what I expected. The duvet covers had hair on them and obviously had not been washed recently and the bathtub had permanent stains that likely wouldn't be there if the tub were cleaned properly. On top of that, I had booked a room with two beds and I didn't realize that only one of them had a comforter. The other bed only had a duvet and a top sheet. I suppose during my first visit I just got lucky with one of the better rooms. I wasn't so lucky this time around. This is the reason why I bring my own disinfectant wipes and spray and towels from home when I travel. The breakfast options were also very bare-bones and disappointing. I did myself a favor by stopping at a grocery store early during my stay and picking up a few things. I will likely book at a different hotel on my next visit to the area.
