Update 2: We met our new Project Manager and he is fantastic - honest, professional, communicative, and clearly understands all phases and aspects of construction. We have a much better understanding of the process and what next steps are and feel confident about our project with him at the helm. Update: The response and concern expressed to this post was swift and gracious. We are hopeful that the action plan will see follow through and we can further revise our review. BTW… Mr Beer Keg is no longer a part of the company, that was resolved very quickly. Stay tuned. Original Post: Be warned… The bad reviews are accurate. Project Manager? What project Manager? We were assigned one for a hot minute but when he came over, smelled like a keg (reportedly after a 2 hour staff meeting that morning) and then asked us THREE TIMES - “so you’re taking that wall out”? Dude, you have access to our design plans and the permit and I’ve already told you this; are you having a stroke? He looked at everything we showed him as if he were looking at a puzzle that he not only couldn’t solve but didn’t even understand the question. Nearly a month later, NOBODY has called us back to tell us where we are, what the timeframe is, despite at least twice weekly reach outs and reassurances that this or that person will get back to us. We are being so freaking patient because we understand the challenges with supply chains, staff, COVID, but for crying out loud, just CALL US BACK! Even the owner hasn’t called us back since the only person in the office reportedly asked her to on Monday (its Friday). I guess its time for another BBB complaint - there are lots of them now. Save yourselves. Just don’t do it. Find someone else. Service: Remodelling

I used Hestia for my bathroom and patio area remodel. I am pleased with the quality and communication through out my project. After a hard days work I can relax in my spa and retreat to my outdoor oasis. It was exactly what I pictured. Thanks Hestia team

I usually don't write reviews but I thought this company deserved a review just for meeting with us. We're renovating our kitchen and made numerous appointments to get estimates. Hestia was the only company to actually come out to meet with us and provide us with an estimate. Thanks for being the only company to meet with us. You guys are very professional! I've recommend you to friends in the Austin area. Service: Remodelling

Update 12/2021: I had a warranty claim within the 6 month warranty for poor wiring that failed. I called the office to schedule the work and was promptly contacted by Edgar. He came out the next day to evaluate the situation. The work was completed promptly and professionally. I cannot speak to the overall changes being made at Hestia to rectify the original issues I had regarding the lack of project management and supervision of the sub contractors which drove my original rating, but Edgar did tell me that they are making positive changes in Austin and have added staff here. The promptness, quality, and communication on status was a welcome change to my previous experience. I would rely on more recent reviewers to get an idea of the full experience you can expect with them. Bumping them up to a 3 I would give them a zero if I could. Patio and patio roof project that probably should have taken 5 months took 9 months. You can build a house in 9 months! We didn't even start construction for 4 months. I could go on forever, it was such a disaster. -The PM's kept changing, one even had to drive 3.5 hours to get to my house. My husband, with no contractor experience, ended up being the PM on the project. -A couple of times materials could not be picked up by the subcontractors because Hestia had not paid for them. One time this happened it cost us getting water damage in our house that had to be repaired IN ADDITION TO the patio project. -They didn't order enough materials causing delays, the office never knew where we were in the project, slabs had to be recut, and quality assurance had to be closely monitored. I could go on. I will say, we finally got an exceptional project manager near the end that helped the project get completed. Otherwise I don't know how much time would have been added. And the final product looks good. The owner does not seem to care if there are major issues as we emailed her several times about our concerns and never heard anything. Just watch out for the smooth talker salesman. Service: Roadworks
