Get ready to make many many calls and never get a straight answer. Me and my wife talked to 8 representatives about getting a breast pump. After 2 months of back and forth, hours on the phone at no point they could tell us what pumps were covered, price limit, etc... zero specifics so we could make an inform choice. They sent us list of medical equipment suppliers, list consist of >90%hearing aid suppliers and other medical equipment, about 2-3 were breast pump suppliers. One supplier never answered the phone, the other did not take our insurance despite being on the list, the third only provided one kind of pump. I have paid a little of over $12k so far for "health" insurance, I never go to the doctor since I am healthy, the one time I try to use the insurance customer service has been a nightmare. Great strategy, give the customer poor inaccurate information (at one time they told me I could go to walmart with a prescription and buy whatever pump we wanted 100% covered, later told by another representative its not true) so they get tired and pay of pocket, insurance saves the money=increase revenue= increase CEO bonus and pay. Great business model BCBS. Could never get a hold of any manager, no one takes any responsibility for poor inaccurate information. We are expecting in a few weeks, 8 representatives later, 2 months of back and forth, they got me, I paid for the pump even though as per them should be 100% covered, if only they told you the process and accurate information.
