The comments below tells you everything that you need to know. Poor management, roach and bedbugs infestations issues, gun shots, crime, fragile stuff that breaks easily like toilet paper holders, shower curtain rods, towel racks, broken dishwashers, I can go on forever…… But even if you are trying to save money it’s not worth it………

Gun shots can be heard at night. No one in the office ever answers the phone. Computer room and coffee lounge are totally off limits. Not able to get mail in mailbox. Bathroom faucets often drip. Ceiling light in kitchen often doesn't turn at first.

This apartment complex takes advantage of renters with their Conservice (emphasis on the word con) utility payment process. Renters are charged excess of their utility usage and Connection Apartments does not provide a bill from the city for the utility charges. All utility charges are whatever Conservice says they are and Connection Apartments does little to nothing to assist the Tennant. My case has been under investigation by management for over 2 months now and they have never contacted me with an update. I am tempted to start a court case, but that will take additional time and money for a broke college student. While rent may be inexpensive, be prepared to pay more in utility charges and do not expect to see any additional funds when your lease ends. The best way to work around their system is to have your move out date be on the last day of the month and do not save any personal account information to their system. You have been warned. P.S. if you are from management or an owner, then I would love to hear from you and ideally resolve the issue. However, the chances of you making me a priority are slim to none, because you are a bunch of crooks. Ball is in your courte for all to see.

I woke up to a call in mid March, weeks after the winter storm, telling me that water damage had made my apartment/building "unliveable". They gave me the ultimatum of "move into another building in the complex or find a new place to stay." The former was within the bounds of their power under my lease agreement, but I was never offered assistance to move my belongings to my new residence by Connection staff (as the lease requires of Connection) -- but this is the least of my worries. I wasn't given actual written notice that I was to move; again, in violation of the lease agreement. I was a student at the time sending 50+ hours a week behind a screen on Zoom trying to take classes, so needing to move out was a bad circumstance to begin with -- but phone call after phone call was either unanswered or met with an ABHORRENTLY rude office staff. I had no idea where I would be moving to, when that move would take place, whether I would have access to internet (a necessity given that I'm studying), or anything at ALL regarding what the "unliveable", or potentially health, life, or property-threatening condition (as per Texas' definition in its housing code) even WAS, other than "its the water from the storm, the pipes are messed up" WEEKS after the storm took place. Whether the hazardous condition ever even existed is beyond my knowledge, and I suspect the whole building was effectively evicted to make room for planned renovations under the new management company, so they could justifiably jack the cost of rent for their junky 21-22 year old buildings. I chose the option to move and was gone within days, allowed outside of my lease and completely by word of mouth by the previously-mentioned rude and uncaring manager to leave without incurring lease-breakage costs. I found this sketchy at the least. They decided to "waive" my cost of utilities for all I owed the rest of my time there, also outside of the lease and confusing to me. I am 20 years old and support myself with zero help at all. I don't have the time to deal with moving unexpectedly even within the complex, and certainly not under the stress of school, wondering if my tap water is safe to drink or shower to bathe in, and wondering when or where I would be placed. But I ESPECIALLY don't have the time for a management office wrought with disrespectful, completely careless staff who dismissed my basic questions on the phone, provided me nothing of any substance as to what the future of my housing, health or safety would look like, and would literally yell at me or hang up when they became frustrated by my asking simple questions. I was told by "the supervisor" I had to ask for that she was "in class" and couldn't spare a moment to answer some questions. My further contact via email was ignored as well. About two months later, as I attempt to contact office staff about a refund on rent I am owed back for the remainder of the month I moved out, other staff members (Stephanie?) completely shut me down, raised her voice on the phone, and became outright upset I was asking for money I'm legally obligated to. Today is a Friday, but come Monday, then Tuesday, and every day following I will continue to call and get my rent back. If this isn't taken care of, I will file a small claims suit. I plan to bring the lease I signed in July in a little file folder with me and show a judge evidently more capable of reading than Connection or its management's staff what it spells out in plain ink. I would be honored to play a key role in the process of showing those who have zero empathy for their tenants whose HOUSING is on the line the importance of listening a little bit harder, or accounting for the gravity of their work to tenants before ignoring, patronizing, and/or showing nothing but disregard for their living situation. Also: Roaches. Knife marks in common areas and my room from the methhead who lived there prior to me, while collecting rotting food (covered by the lovely scent of fresh paint). Gunshots. Car break-ins. Dude, I promise for your sake -- find somewhere else.
