Called on the phone for a quick meet and greet nearly a year before using them. I decided to use them and paid for my tax return filing in April 2022… The bill was outrageous. When I asked why it was so high they had included $125 consultation fee. To my surprise I had a balance added of $125 that I never knew I was charged. Apparently, calling to ask how their firm works on the phone is a consultation you don’t know you’re being charged. After questioning $125… the lady returned and said “Ervin will take off the $125 but said you can go get your taxes done somewhere else next year“. I paid $625 for my federal filing and some additional information I had requested. The information I had requested was not complete when I paid the bill but she said it would be ready the following week. When I inquired the next week about the additional information I needed.… Surprise surprise…. now they said they would only give me the additional information if I paid $125 additional. Prior to that… The processor who did my return said that what I paid included everything. As well… A friend using them‘s return was quoted as $925 minus a “$400 customer appreciation deduction“. Not only are they not truthful about their charges but, they seem to charge customers different rates and they charge you for things you’re unaware of. Very shady to me.
