Kona Grill - Franklin

Great place to eat. Love their Sunday happy hour. Great food for $5.00 on Sundays. Great atmosphere, super clean, sushi is amazing. Recommend!

So here is the run down of Kona grill. Food was bland, cold, undercooked, and some of what was ordered didn’t make it out to the table (I’m assuming the server forgot) not worth the money. From the time we sat down to the time we got the food took an hour. Server had the personality of a truck. When we asked to speak to a manager she didn’t want us to. We eventually spoke to Mitch the manager who was very polite. He comped some of the meals and offered deserts. Granted the restaurant had a large party of teenagers but in my opinion if you can’t handle large parties then don’t seat them. This was my first and last time at this restaurant. Very disappointed.

It is a great place to get delicious sushi. They also have a great selection of hot teas. The atmosphere inside was very calm and relaxing. Overall a wonderful experience at a reasonable price.

Second time in two weeks we have dined (strictly returning for food not service) and the service and entire experience was poor. Walked in on a Friday night (7:30pm) to a half empty restaurant, hostess says 30 minute wait for a table...Nearly every table in view in the bar area, sushi area and patio area were dirty.. we opted to sit at the bar and wait more than 15 minutes for 2 beers for the male bartender. He was overwhelmed, unhappy and it showed. We ordered our food and beers at the same time and watched as no one seemed to clean up anything in the restaurant. This is not the same Kona we visited months ago. Either they have been extremely short staffed the past 2 weeks or a serious lack of management. Food arrives faster than drinks, takes 30 minutes to pay your tab and did I mention the dozens of tables that were dirty were still dirty an hour and half later when we left. Won’t be back a third time.

First time here and it does NOT disappoint! Atmosphere is great, friendly staff, and the food was on point! We got the crunchy crab roll and the kona bowl. The crunchy crab roll was literally the best roll I’ve ever had. The kona bowl was spicy but really good! 👍🏼 will definitely come back if we’re in town.
