Avis Car Rental

Terrible experience with AVIS at Charleston Airport. Was sent an email with instructions which were totally inaccurate and ended up waiting on 2 separate lines at different locations for nearly 2 hours ( longer than my flight ) to get my rental vehicle. I will never use AVIS again .

The line to receive your rented car is atrocious. The car was dirty (trash and old food), and had no wiper fluid (in the height of pollen season)

Horrible Experience - We rented a premium 7-Passenger Vehicle. The first vehicle they provide us was an Expedition with 71,000 miles, brake pads completely worn and rotors wearing metal to metal. Called and had the vehicle exchanged to a suburban with a previously patched front passenger tire that went flat on the third day of the trip. I had to switch out the tire with the spare on the side of the road because roadside assistance could not get to us for 3 hours and we would have to pay for Avis Roadside Assistance and the Tire according to their policy even though it was a previously patched tire?? I will never rent from them again.

Two and a half hours. We stood in the pickup line for two and a half hours. We were told that 84 reservations were accepted for a noon pickup. It was taking 7 to 10 minutes to process a reservation. With this information, we would have expected to have more than two agents at the desk. Next time I will pay the extra and use a different car rental company. Besides the horribly, unacceptable wait time, the agent knew his job and was kind. The car was clean and handled well. The return was painless, however I received two identical emails confirming the car return. If it wasn't for the wait time, I would have scored AVIS an Extremely Likely (to use again) score.

Charged for re-fueling without my consent. I refueled the car. And this is a second occurrence.
