Everything went smoothly at first. I asked her for the toll charge and she said there is no fee at all. Then received a bill with toll charge. I called her and she was nicely say she will refund it to me, but it never happen. Now they block my number, can't call them anymore. What's a nice business!!!! I don't need you to refund- just don't say you CAN then you CANT. That is why you are losing in your business. Good luck!!!! I am looking forward to hearing your news of bankruptcy.

On April 6 I reserved a car through Expedia from Rent-A-Wreck of Philadelphia Intl Airport. On the day of my trip, April 9, during my layover, I noticed an email in my SPAM folder from [email protected] (a random gmail account, NOT a Rent A Wreck or any corporate email account) claiming to be Rent-A-Wreck PHL and asking for credit card information and a photo of my driver’s license. This email did not list the reservation number, had grammatical errors and odd formatting, and looked just like a typical phishing scam.If I sent you an email like that from my gmail account claiming to be your bank and I asked for your credit card information and photo of your driver's license, would you respond to it?But I called the Rent A Wreck phone number shown on the Expedia reservation to make sure everything was OK and was told that my reservation was canceled because I didn't respond in time to that shady email in my SPAM folder. Now I was left with no rental car on arrival.I've rented cars dozens of times and never once had to reply to a random email with my credit card info *after* I had already reserved and *paid* online. The woman at Rent-A-Wreck I spoke with that day said she would at least refund my payment. But I just got the credit card bill later and the full rental charge is *still there*, even though their own rental policy lists $50 for late cancellation!I called Rent-A-Wreck PHL again to ask for a refund and was told they would *not* issue a refund and that the woman who told me that on the 9th no longer worked there. I suppose they feel they are not beholden to a former employee’s promises, nor to basic fairness for that matter. They set unreasonable expectations for customers that no other rental agencies set by responding to emails from a random account that could end up in a SPAM folder). They violated their own policies by charging the full rental fee instead of the stated $50 cancellation fee. They were completely dismissive during their phone interactions.Avoid this business at all costs.

I have never been treated so poorly. My flight was delayed and so I was thinking about the plane delay and when I arrived my car was canceled. I replied the day before to confirm my rental. They just cancel right away to screw you out on your money.

Every year my daughter and I take a road trip and rent a car to do this. I reserved a car via Priceline that advertised itself as an economy car with unlimited miles from a company called "Nextcar." The morning we were set to leave for our trip, I sent a text saying I needed to go to PHL International Airport and get a shuttle, which I did. I arrived early and waited for a shuttle which drove me several miles outside of the airport. Upon arrival the woman at the counter asked for my DL and CC and immediately charge me the agreed upon amount in addition to a security deposit. Only after she took my money was I told the miles were not unlimited if I left the tristate area. The trip had already been planned to travel down south and they already had my money. I am now getting charged almost $600 more than the agreed upon amount, and when I call and leave messages no one calls me back. The car was barely worth the amount I agreed to pay. It was a 2019 Nissan Versa with alignment so bad I felt like I was being pulled off the road. I would recommend one of the major chains. This place is dishonest.
