Great tour at Evesham Wood with Chris, including time in the vineyard and wine cave. We sampled some 2014 library wines, all were outstanding! This was our favorite winery experience of our trip to OR!

What a disappointing trip. We were so excited to visit this winery as we have drank their wines on many occasions. The booking process was very informal and confusing and we thought our appointment was at 3:30 but apparently it was at 3. We arrived a few minutes before what we thought was our 3:30 appointment and we were greeted by a man who was beyond rude and said we had missed our appointment and had to leave because they had a 4pm appointment that would be arriving in 30 minutes. I can absolutely understand that with all that is going on with covid not being able to make exceptions for late appointments but (a) there was never a confirmation call/ email or call asking where we were so we were genuinely surprised to find out when we arrived that we were late and (b) being in the service industry myself we’ve always been told to accommodate the customer in any way possible even when they are wrong. Looking back on the email correspondence we can 100% acknowledge that we were 30 minutes late. It was a very honest mistake as we had multiple appointments a day for our whole willamette trip and we had written down that this one was at 3:30 instead of 3. Working in the service industry I feel that the most logical response here would’ve been to give us an abbreviated tasting and had us do the last 30 minutes on our own rather than just send us away with our tail between our legs (especially when we really pride ourselves in being on time for everything). This was the one label we recognized from Boston so we were so excited to be able to taste it and learn more about it and could not have been treated more rudely. We’ve bought this wine many times in Boston and will certainly never buy again.

Another great tasting experience with Chris. We tried a mix of the Evesham Wood/Haden Fig Pinots and one Chard. The wines were great as always. Best part of the stop was Chris. He has great wine knowledge and it is always fun to chat with him. Some of the best pinots in Oregon and the prices are very reasonable.
