We had a great experience with the Floor Doctor, Bill Chamberlain. He repaired and refinished the (very damaged) hardwood floors in our 1919 home. The floors had been carpeted for years before we moved in, and when we pulled up the carpets it was not a pretty sight. Pet stains, warped boards, a large section ruined by water damage. Despite the condition we wanted to salvage as much of the original white oak as possible. Another company was only willing to replace our floors, but Bill agreed to tackle this difficult job for a very reasonable price. While he was working on the floors he was diligent, clean and communicative. He did a great job sealing off the area and regularly vacuuming the dust and debris. I was working from home at the time and Bill communicated clearly with me throughout the process. He was upbeat, friendly, and professional in his communication. The job ended up being more involved than Bill originally predicted, but he stuck by his quoted price and went above and beyond to give us a result we were satisfied with. He put in several extra days of work, re-sanding and finishing the floor multiple times to address some stubborn pet stains. He kept a great attitude and was clearly invested in leaving us with a quality product. Our floors came out looking beautiful, far better than we thought was possible. As first-time homebuyers, we were a bit nervous going into the process. Bill impressed us with his integrity, work ethic, and quality work. I highly recommend the Floor Doctor.

We hired the floor doctor -- William Chamberlain -- in July 2012 to lessen squeeks, fix some damage, replace some mismatched boards and refinish the oak and fir floors in our 1915 home. He did a great job, he was clear and upfront about what it would cost, he worked with us to get what we wanted done, he was very careful, he finished on the schedule he told us, and he was a pleasure to work with. I would hire him again and I recommend him.
