Only been to this place a few times, but their happy hour prices help out a lot. Their cocktails are always interesting. Sad to hear they won't reopen.

Wow...where should I start. The food was just not good. Too salty, overcooked, and oily. The kung pao shrimp was so overcooked, it was hard and it was dripping with so much oil, I was worried to put in my system. Fried rice just tasted burnt. The server was very defensive when we made a comment about how they serve the rice with rice stuck all over the side of the bowl. Oh, we asked for the beer listing, which the server completely forgot about. Ended up with no beer. We visit Portland from Seattle, and try a new restaurant each time. Well, this was one of the worst.

Terrible New Years Eve experience! Sorry Saucebox but there was a clear lack of planning from the start to end of this event. I felt bad for your two bartenders as they were overwhelmed with customers. Also the countdown was a flop; it was as if nobody rehearsed a plan for NYE. Music was mediocre. Also who does cash only bars when people are lining up to buy champagne? Not a great way to start 2020.
