Reception was friendly and the beach is close. The room was dirty. Found food under the bed, the shower door doesn't stay closed the lock is broken. Hand towel hanging up was dirty so was the microwave and bedding. The shower facet is wrong hot is really cold and cold is really hot. Neighbors below were moving things around making quite a bit of noise. Not the nicest of places.

Dirty. burnt down and killed four people a couple weeks after we stayed there we even stayed in the room next to where the people died so my four kids and me and their father probably would have died too because we were using a room that is shared with room 220.

It's not much to look at but for the price it isn't bad. Although I didn't have a blacklight with me it was as clean as my eye could see. Next time I'm in Newport I would stay there again. No pool, breakfast or room service.

Employees are great, price is cheap, overall it was a decent place to stay. There's just a few maintenence issues that should be addressed.

1st room they sold us was already reserved, so our room was "upgraded". The room we were upgraded to was #214. This is the top corner room. Due to its location, the room has a horribly slanted ceiling and the floor itself is not even close to level. The door seal was completely shot, letting in cold air all night. Along with the shoddy repair of the bathroom windown, which might as well just been left open, since it was falling apart and the glass wasn't even sealed. This worked out well though, seeings how the heater had only an on setting. The thermostat had no control over the electric heater shutting off once it hit temp. The bathroom was an electricians nightmare. Three different light switches to control the vent fan/light and a small light above the sink with the worn out and cracked mirror, while a fourth switch on the out side of the bathroom, kind of tucked away where you couldn't see it, or thought maybe it controlled the pendant light over the table by the window, controlled the main light in the bathroom. The floors were worn, the shower filthy, and unlike advertized, there was no fridge in the room. The walls were filthy and full of bad patch work. There is a room that attaches to 214. The note on the door asks you not try and open the door, but there is no seal on this door and the light that was on inside that room all night provides the perfect sliver of light to leak through across the pillow area of the 2nd bed. This was the worst Motel I have ever possibly stayed at along the Oregon Coast, especially for $120. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Our unlucky choice to visit the coast this past weekend though, due to the wine and seafood fest, there were very few rooms available. I still think we would have been better off sleeping in the car...
