I would give this place 1 star had it not been for the view and jacuzzi on the deck. However, upon going into our room it was really obvious that they had not vacuumed the carpet. Not only were there crumbs but several toe nail clippings in the living area! So disgusting! I called the front desk asking if they could come clean and they told me that their housekeeping crew was gone until tomorrow morning (it was about 4pm at this point) and all they could do for us was give a complimentary drink…which ended up being a $10 bottle of wine! LOL. We went to the front desk later and asked if they could do anything else, such as give us some of our money back and the girl told us I had spoken to the supervisor on the phone and she would have been the one to give any discounts. I didn’t find this to be believable as when we had arrived I only saw the same 3 ladies at the front desk that I was talking to now. When asked again if they could clean they said due to COVID we would have to wait until the morning when their housekeeping crew was back. I cannot believe that a place that runs several “romantic” ocean side hotels does not operate at the capacity to have people on call for last minute needs or that their other workers couldn’t take 5 minutes to clean something that should have already been done by check-in. This was our anniversary weekend and we just chose to make the best out of it but starting it this way with such bad service was not ideal. We had stayed at their other property the Starfish Manor and loved it and now I’m not sure if we’d even return after this.
