Are you kidding me?! The last time this restraurant was any good was about 20 years ago. Now, the worst in Strongsville if not the entire Southwestern Cleveland area. At least i don't have to watch their commercials promoting their world famous margaritas. Laughable

I ate at the Mad Cactus today for the first time with my boyfriend. Let's just say that we should have taken the hint when we saw no other cars in the parking lot and no one else inside the place when we walked in. I got their taco bar special. Not very good; the meat wasn't seasoned and I felt sick after eating it. My boyfriend ordered the half-price chicken fajitas. Disgusting is the only word to describe them. At half price they were $8.50 -- I can't believe this place feels like they can charge $17 for that awful food. He had two bites and couldn't eat anymore. It tasted frozen and the chicken was discolored. I asked the manager (or owner?) if they served frozen chicken and she said that everything is made fresh. Yeah, maybe it was made fresh a month ago and defrosted for today. It was disappointing to have to pay for any of that "food" when I can make a better meal at home. Will NEVER go back.

I saw this restaurant on restaurant impossible and I now live down the street so my roommates and I checked it out. But before we get into that, let me ask you what comes to mind when you think of a Mexican restaurant? A liberal serving of Hispanic oriented dishes and an awesome price and some delicious yet strong margaritas, right? That's what I thought anyway.. but when we went there, we only ordered takeout(didn't even take a table because we live literally 1.5 mins away) we each decided on ordering the quesadillas so I attempted to submit our order to the host(a disgruntled looking Hispanic man) who then barked at me that I'll just have to wait(he was cleaning off the seating chart and writing it, are you kidding me!? You have customers RIGHT in front of you trying to give you money!) So I sit back down and started to discuss the southwestern style t.g.i. Friday's thong that they had going on with my 3 roommates and then the guy interrupts and says "hey, did you want to make a carry out order or what." I shrug this off thinking that maybe he's just had a bad night and give him our order. He takes it and tells us should be about 20 minutes. So I sit back down and wait... and wait ....and wait some more until 45 minutes went by. This is the point where I started getting irritated. I go up to the desk and ask about our food and he said he'll go back and check he comes back with our food and says he's sorry and that it's actually been ready for about 25 minutes and that it normally doesn't take this long to serve customers. I stay courteous and pay the man and take our food. The cost came to about 65 dollars for four people! What the hell! And you know all those extras that you usually get?(refried beans and rice or whatever) not from this place, came with the quesadillas themselves and that's it! Case you're too lazy that's a little over 16 a plate with NO sides and the food was terrible -maybe it would have been good fresh. I don't know. But basic recommendation: DO NOT COME HERE.

CHANGE IS GOOD! We have many years and memories on different occasions at this staple in Strongsville Ohio. I am not sure about paying for the chips but I understand the man was losing money and if I had to choose paying for the chips or The Mad Cactus being gone, I pay for the chips. I would tell your staff to not say in the kitchen THE GOAL IS TO SELL EVERY TABLE THE CHIPS. We always get the ribs, BBQ Chicken and the fabulous margaritas, bar none! We tried two new dishes, The pork Chops and the Steak Fajita dishes. We loved the Fajita! Tasty, fresh, dressings were cold and the food was HOT! The Pork Chop however was a very nice attempt but not juicy and dry and not tender. They needed to be left off the grill and left a little pink. We liked the glaze and the mashed were fantastic. The hot BBQ was a nice flavor that I used to help spice it up. They should offer a BBQ Pork chop dish. This is what he is known for.
The Atmosphere was a welcome change, get rid of the KEYS!!! LOL
