Going to Tipsy Lotus for yoga is the best part of my week! All the instructors are really great at what they do and Kierstan, the owner is the sweetest person ever.

No yoga was done here. I would give this place zero stars if possible. I had to interrupt the “instructor” who was talking with two other clients about their latest purchase of yoga pants in order to get checked in for the class. Not a good first sign. Throughout the class there was not a single reference to the focus on breath, which if you know anything about yoga is the central part of the practice of any kind of yoga! I am fairly experienced and have attended all different kinds of yoga, from the typical Vinyasa classes, to a traditional Bikram 26 90 minute class, to Hot fusion, to hot power fusion, to yin, to restorative. This practice did not fit in any of these categories, nor did it really resemble yoga in any way for the first 20 to 30 minutes. We started with stretching (what is this, 1994’s PE class?) and didn’t actually get into anything resembling yoga until about 20 minutes in. The “flows” were very slow and did not repeat often enough to adequately warm up the body even though it was a moderately heated class. None of the basic principles of yoga were followed in this class. Further distracting from my personal practice was the instructors “yoga voice” which sounded like she had learned it from someone who had once heard a yoga class through a badly tuned AM radio and communicated this knowledge to the instructor exclusively through gestures and tin cans on string. To add to the instructors lack of professionalism, she would interrupt the flow or practice whenever one of her students made some comment about a celebrity and their yoga practice and essentially stopped the class so they could discuss whether Eva Longoria would injure her knee doing one pose or another. All in all, this was hands-down the most distracting and counterproductive yoga class I have ever been to. This studio best suits basic white girls who think they need to moderately break a sweat in order to “earn” their late Sunday morning brunch mimosas. but if you want to make progress in your yoga practice the priority in you coming to a yoga class (shocking) and not simply the occasional byproduct of your social gathering with stretching, find another studio. Tipsy Lotus will not be able to help you.

I am probably the least flexible person ever. Hot yoga with the Tipsy Lotus team has helped me regain some of it back, better blood flow and overall better healthy feeling. Its for all people wether you are advanced or beginner. Military friendly (huge plus)
