I can't praise this company enough. From the initial call to the visit and repair was exceptionally. I especially would like to take my hat off to the young man Matthew who did the work. I am a returning citizen of Cumberland County and it does my heart good to know that I have a company I can depend on when needed. Thank you for a job well done. Will definitely be calling on you again. Service: Light fixture repair

Had an excellent experience with Sam P. I had an electrical issue that had been plaguing my home for months. I hired a handyman who was able to temporarily fix the issue and then it returned worse as ever. We ended up contacting MidSouth who was able to put us in on the schedule within one business day. Sam came out and spent nearly 2 hours chasing the electric map to figure out where the real problem was. He answered questions, was polite and extremely knowledgeable. After figuring out that the whole problem started with a short Im a garage light, he was able to restore power back to the house and tested everything prior to leaving. He was awesome and a great representative of the company. I would definitely recommend to anyone with a real electrical issue in their home.

I am very disappointed in the lack of service provided by this company, despite the positive reviews. We have a circuit that is tripping, they came out and replaced the switch in the breaker box the first time - no issues with that. But it didnt fix the problem and we were still having the circuit trip. We called again and they said there was no point in coming when the fault isnt present - so we waited for it to trip again, called immediately when it did and received no response until we followed up on Monday. They were unable to come out until Wednesday because a different job took priority - so we were without lights in the kitchen and garage until then. Then they actually didnt come out until Thursday, and essentially shrugged their shoulders and said to wait it out until you can determine which light or switch is responsible, or we can install ALL new switches and fixtures. This is an astronomical price just to find a problem. I dont know a lot about electricity, but we didnt not feel that MidSouth cared nor were they motivated to help us find the problem. Because of this we are very disappointed and would not recommend them for anything beyond a basic job. UPDATE: We fixed it ourselves. A light bulb had a sensor that got broken (likely during the hurricane which is when the issue started) and exposed the wiring, causing it to trip when water/dust got in there. So to put this plainly - in the two times they came to our house, they didn't even check the outdoor light fixtures to see if the seals had opened or if there were issues with the bulbs. IT WAS A LIGHT BULB. This took simple deductive reasoning and visual observations for my husband, who knows nothing about electricity, to figure out. It was not an AFCI issue as the owner tried to imply. It really was as simple as a damaged bulb. Cost is not an issue to us for things that are necessary. But no we are not going to waste money to replace switches and try to solve the issue. We can manage that ourselves. IF the light was inspected by the technician, he may need some additional training because the sensor was completely and obviously exposed, and this makes perfect sense since the issue started during the hurricane. Do not insult us further by implying we cant not afford to pay for quality work. Again, I suggest looking elsewhere if you are looking for an electrician to apply deductive reasoning and make a real attempt to find the issue. They were quick to try to make a bigger job out of this simple problem. Service: General repairs
