Mike performed an inspection for me as a home-buyer. He was very thorough and went above and beyond in answering questions and explaining issues in detail. He paid particular attention to the ventilation state of the attic and a small amount of mold that was present - he emphasized its importance and gave me a detailed plan of how to work with a certified mold inspector to start the process of fixing it. He's efficient, but responded well to me wanting to take a longer time with the inspection. His report was detailed with high quality pictures. He also navigated an awkward situation with the seller's agent very professionally and with my interests in mind.

Do NOT hire Mike Renahan. You can not trust his report to be accurate. His home inspection report for us said that our attic ventilation was acceptable, but within a few months we had a huge, expensive mold problem because of poor ventilation. Then at my realtors request, he sent pictures that he took when he poked his head into the attic to supposedly inspect it. The soffit ventilation and rafter baffles were filled with and/or covered with blown in insulation and there was almost no ventilation, resulting in a huge mold problem. His own pictures are proof of being untrustworthy. Unfortunately, Mike never made it right to us and only gave excuses. Yes, Mike was helpful in answering questions about other parts of his report, and that is why it is sad to give this full evaluation. However, the most important detail is that Mike was hired for a second opinion, but deferred to the original NYS Inspectors report. That same NYS Inspector unknowingly contradicted his report later, about acceptable ventilation. He said there was unacceptable ventilation. Why didnt Mike give me the second opinion that I paid for? Mikes own pictures (supplied later) convict him, by showing insulation plugging the rafter baffles and covering the baffles. Ventilation was smothered, resulting in mold.

Mike did a home inspection on a house we recently put an accepted offer in on. He came highly recommended and I have to say he didn't disappoint. He was professional, thorough, polite, and answered any questions we had. It was very cold that day but that didn't deter him from doing all the necessary inspections on the outside of the house. He spent 3 hours in all on the inspection. The details of the report were presented to us the next day in a very comprehensive manner. The price we paid was well worth it. He found things we would have missed and ended up negotiating the price down on the house because of his findings which ultimately paid for his services and more! Highly recommend him.

I had a home inspection done by Michael Renahan. He was very efficient, professional, and thorough. He is very attentive to details regardless of how big or small the issue. He had me accompany him on the inspection and was very knowledge and took the time to explain what he was looking at, how he made determinations, and how to fix them! I would not want to buy a house without having Michael inspect it first! I highly recommend him.
