Excellent place for working, studying and reading. The atmosphere is relatively quiet and the chairs are comfortable. Coffee is good and the sandwiches are too.
Prices could be a little lower though

Great find! Atmosphere is relaxed and great for working. Iced tea was perfection.
One little thing though, when I ordered my iced tea the server told me "let me know when you need a refill" which I took it to mean that he will just add water and ice to my cup (and reuse my tea bag). I thought this was great service and made a mental note to come back here next weekend! When I took up on the offer the manager/owner yells out "that will be $3" as if I was trying to get away with something. Now folks, I don't really care about few bucks but it just didn't sit well with me. Which is why I gave it "Good" for service.

I love this place and would move in there to live forever if I could.
I spend a lot of time in cafes in this city. I have seen the terrible and the awesome and everything in-between. Even when I first walked in I knew Vaganond would be on the awesome end of the equation.
Mike and Aly, the owners, are so friendly and attentive and love it when people come and hang and try new things and invent new flavor combinations. They make the place feel more like a living room than a soullness cafe.
The drinks are super tasy, especially the chai. They have over a dozen syrup flavors on tap, so you can make your drink taste like anything.
I'm also a fan of the food, all of which is tasty and not terribly expensive. I mean, it is the west vollage so you're not going to get cheap eats, but they do make sure the food is worth the cost.
I guess the short version is this: I live just under 200th street, but I regularly make a trip down here to work in the afternoons, meet friends, or hang out in the evenings. This is exactly the kind of place I envision when I think of the perfect writing cafe.

Charming find! An oasis in the W. Village, with arm chairs, relaxed homelike atmosphere, good tea, nice food selection for a cafe (sandwiches, soups, crepes). The place serves alcohol, hosts live music events, offers free WiFi and the owner himself is behind the bar. Indeed, I have never been as pleasantly surprised by a cafe. Definitely coming back.
