I don't often write reviews, but when an experience is this bad, I have to warn people. The show might be good (although the one I saw was not.) The decor might be elegant... But the overall experience is, as my date put it, "excruciating." If you don't get a banquette, you'll sit in an uncomfortable wooden chair packed around tiny tables. There's a 2-drink minimum with $18 for an alcoholic drink. A $25 non-alcoholic option is basically 2 sodas and a bag of chips. The limited snack options are mostly plastic wrapped, as if they came from a deli. And the wait-service (at least the waiter) is atrocious. I got there 1/2 hour early when it was practically empty. He asked if I wanted to "settle the bill upfront." I did and gave a 25% tip. Despite this, my drink took almost 45 minutes to arrive. When I asked politely if it was on its way, the waiter said, "You'll get it when you get it." An hour after I ordered it (and halfway through the show), the plate of hummus (one of only three things not wrapped in plastic) I'd ordered finally arrived. I produced a comedy show here many years ago but I don't remember it being like this at all. Sad, because it's the only cabaret spot on the UWS. A few small changes - better management of waitstaff, a few decent food options - even carrots & celery with the hummus instead of stale pita bread - could make a big difference.
