S&P Global Platts is a news and information service for commodities and energy markets. Platts is my favorite resource for oil, natural gas, electricity and metals pricing, risk and trading data. Most of the products and subscription services are a good value for the cost. Platts has a great news blog that is free and has original content without promotional or advertising material, called The Barrel. As a customer, I can get everything I need by contacting them by phone and email, rather than going to their office.
