Econo Lodge Times Square

We have stayed at this hotel 5 times and it gets worse each time. The staff are rude, the rooms are nasty, there were times that the water would not even come on in the shower, the lights are set on timers and go off every 3-5 minutes so you continously have to get up and move in front of the sensor if you need to keep it on, etc, etc. The girl that checked us in acted as if she absolutely hated her job. We only stay in Choice hotels, we have been members for many years and we always use our choice credit card. We normally get some kind of member "gift" such as a water and chips or the option to get extra points but we got nothing during this stay. I have nothing positive to say about this stay. We will not ever stay at this location again. The price is what has kept us going back but I will pay double the price to stay somewhere else next time.

Tiny rooms, we were charged $484.31 for a deposit on top of $ 980.08 for two nights, they are using the excuse of the pandemic and they don't offer theirs guest with water, complementary coffee of complementary breakfast. Nothing at all, this is a big rip off.

GO ELSEWHERE. I've stayed in quite a few small hotels in NYC over the years, but this takes the cake for the absolute worst. Aside from the location and the mostly nice staff, save your time and money. In addition to breakfast being falsely advertised (finding out upon arrival that it's no longer provided) in our room the provided landline phone, fridge (which we had to ask for), safe in the "closet", towel bar and one of the towel hangers in the bathroom were ALL BROKEN!! The room itself had streaky mystery stains on the walls, splotchy stains and burn marks inside the drawers, the towels barely absorbed any water and there was quite literally less than a foot of space between the foot of the bed and the wall. For two people, it was quite a tight squeeze, especially once the fridge was brought in (which never got cold and made an off-putting electrical clicking noise). There also wasn't a coffee maker (then again there wasn't room for it), but if you want tea, just turn the shower on. While the water pressure was nice, the temperature gets DANGEROUSLY hot and both my boyfriend and I scalded ourselves pretty badly trying to figure it out.
