During the pandemic, I worked remotely for the Walter Wickiser Gallery. While working there, I quickly came to know the ins and outs of the gallery. I was able to work with some great artists and learned how to keep my cool while dealing with unexpected stressful situations. I am grateful for the opportunities I was given and for preparing me for a career in the art world. I look forward to visiting the gallery again in the future as a visitor!

Super outstanding gallery!
I was an intern and then became a crucial part of the employees at Walter Wickiser Gallery between 2007 and 2009. My working experience at the gallery was very unforgettable and valuable to me.
I’ve learned a variety of the inner workings of the gallery, such as managerial skills, art dealing, art handling, and administrative skills as a gallerist. In addition, Walter Wickiser, the president of the gallery, has a sense of humor, professionalism, and generosity.
I still stay in touch with him since I left NY in 2010. The working experience at this gallery with Walter was one of my most valuable assets to my career.

In my senior year, I was an intern at Walter Wickser Gallery. After graduation, I continued to work here.
In this year and a half, I have learned a lot. In addition to getting in touch with many outstanding artists and artworks, I also learned various skills at work, which enhanced my ability to communicate with others and increased my professionalism.
The working experience teaches me how to deal with all kinds of difficulties in work and how to maintain a good attitude to face difficulties.

Fantastic gallery full of cutting-edge gorgeous art. Walter is a true professional and expert of the NYC art world. Walter often shows Asian influenced and celebrity art at his fabulous gallery openings. The staff is helpful and Walter is alway available for a chat about the art. Often the artist is on hand as well. Check it out.

I witnessed Walter of Walter Gallery scream profanities and verbally abuse a young girl who I later learned was a college intern. The other assistants/interns turned away as he kept dropping f-bombs and cursing at her. Maybe this was a common occurrence? Nonetheless, no one spoke up. He seemed like he had some weird power trip as the intern was a young lady and a person of color. This happened a while back (before covid) and I kept going back and forth on whether I should write this review but I kept getting outraged thinking about it. Think twice before visiting and working with Walter. Steer clear if you’re a woman or POC.
